Funny Incident Yesterday at the Gym

First, a little backstory…

About five months ago, I developed a cyst on the back of my neck which I discovered while showering. Small, hard, color of my skin. I decided to just let it do it’s own thing. Fast forward to this past weekend and it had grown to the size of a quarter, real hard, and really stretching my skin. I applied warm compresses, began an antibiotic regimen, and kept it clean/covered with gauze. Sunday night, the wife began numbing it with ice cubes, and plunging a sewing needle in it to pop and drain. It’s about half gone.

During squats yesterday, as I reached my top set single, apparently driving my head/back into the bar put enough pressure on it that it finally popped completely. The relief was incredible.

I now have to go to the dermatologist and have them remove the capsule, otherwise it could return.

Anyway, that’s my story, haha.

Just get a craft knife kit at Hobby Lobby and diy it.

They have like everything at that place!

I no poop remember my dad helping me cut a cyst out of my knee in my home bathroom when I was ~15 because it was bothering me at wrestling practice

Yours & mine must have gone to the same school of medicine.

Nothing some paper towels and H²O² can’t fix!

I crashed my bike at an off limits slag dump/bmx track and got slivers of it embedded in my shins, palms, wrists & chest.

Dad: “You weren’t supposed to be there.”

Me: “Aggggghhhh!”

Dad: *hands me a wire brush and peroxide

“This will get it out”

That’s awesome.

Back when men were men and we walked to school uphill both ways.

Amusingly, I do often make my kids walk from school in the snow (it’s like 2 blocks). Sometimes other moms pick them up and bring them home, I think just to let me know I’m a terrible person.

Ha! I was about to say, get thee to a dermatologist and get the core carved out. But it looks like you’re headed that direction. I had a recurring cyst on my back. My wife would drain it frequently, but it would always come back. She even named it “Hodor.”

It was surprising how deep that sucker went. Only annoying part was having to take some time off from lifting to avoid popping the stitches.
