My husband has been in that ‘place.’ But he’s weird and LIKES the MRE’s.

Spock: I was conducting some training and the kid got a little jumpy… It happens. At least he didn’t shoot. I’ve had idiots almost shoot my foot, among other things, during/after live fire exercises.

MiM: I like MRE’s too, but not everyday. I can be pretty creative sometimes. :slight_smile:

Oh, and THIS gym sucks. But my gym at home kicks ass. Wichita Falls Atletic Center, Mark Rippetoe’s gym. It’s pretty awesome! Racks every where, a tire/other crap area in the back and tons of Oly platforms and bumpers. :slight_smile:

So how are you finding the 3/5/1 VS the 5/3/1 for strength gains? I mean, both programs were about gaining strength. Do you think this is making a difference to your one RM’s more so than the regular version?? I am contimplating doing this for my next cycle, but I also like the idea of percentages just building up to the final pre deload week.

Decisions, decisions…

It’s my first cycle, so I can’t really say. I know adding in the singles will get me ready for the meet. Mentally, knowing you can hit your first and second attempts before stepping on the platform is a great feeling. I know after my peak, I will be even stronger and hopefully get close to my 1350 goal.

I was thinking about switching up the weeks a long time ago. Every which combination, I think can work. I don’t think it’s one being BETTER than the other, just a different course to the same goal. What about a 1/3/5?? That one has always interested me… I feel like I could destroy a lot of my 1-week rep maxes by not coming in fatigued from the two weeks before.

I still have 3 1/2 hours til bench. I’m so excited!! Just had my coffee… oh man… the anticipation kills me.

I’m ASSuming it would be a case by case kinda deal. Like SPOCK :), for instance, would probably get 35’s on the bar due to her height. Where as a much taller woman would easily have a better chance of filling out the 45’s. Fat percentage is variable as well. If it passes the yoga pants, sofee shorts appearance test, then I ASSume that would be sufficient!

I’m gonna go ahead and announce my log as the official bar/butt test location!! Picture or video will suffice, and for every one (females only, sorry Okage) who passes the test, they get to determine my AVI for a week. First come, first serve and all who pass will get a week. I will keep track and let you know when your week is. Monday-Sunday is the standard week for the contest. Time stamps on log posts will determine the order of avatar control, not time the video was taken. No body fat requirements. Good luck and god speed!

Now that I think about it, the 45’s are pretty much the smallest that would rationally work, huh? We’re gonna have to experiment! The standard is 45’s on the bar (or same size bumpers of any weight) unless someone can prove the 35’s are a valid replacement based on height.

Still feeling a bit off but all my weight is being handled, so we’re good. I think I got a little ahead of myself. I lost my groove on PRESS a few times and bench I wasn’t QUITE where I needed to be, but we’ll just press on and squat tomorrow.

While I was recording my PRESS sets, some A-HOLE came over and stacked one of the two tens he was using on the T-bar row (2 fucking TENS? U SRS??!??!!?!) on the two tens I was using to hold my phone up on a box. I immediately told him to correct himself and remember I have to put that shit up. It may only be a ten lb plate, but I didn’t get it out and I was sure as HELL not going to put it up for him. FUCKING MOTHER FUCKERS!!! I am not a fan of stupid shit like that. He had the nerve to look me in the eye as he put it there. I’m pretty sure he was an officer (he was old and very ‘proper’ looking), but I was not going to let that shit happen. I called him a lazy fuck. I think he was just caught off guard and didn’t know how to react. haha! He put it up immediately. :slight_smile: I hope I see him when I’m on duty. He’s definitely getting a proper ‘precautionary check’! LOL

Didn’t have a box to jump on. That damned thing goes missing every other day, for some reason! I felt sluggish until I had an audience. Then my butt got in gear!! lol Felt tight and I’m really getting a good stretch reflex out of the bottom.

I wasn’t in the mood to video myself today. I think I’m going to hold out on it except for near PR, PR, and last set attempts. I get all distracted trying to tape myself… I need a camera crew! Maybe I should ask the pretty girl?? Food has been good today.

1 hour before meal 1: 2 Alpha Male, 2 Circumin

Meal 1: Big servings of Garlic Beef and roasted turkey, a scoop (standard ice cream type scoop) of wild rice, two big scoops of random veggie medley, sweet tea (I’m from Texas, DUHHH!!), and 400 ml of milk.

Meal 2: 60g Metabolic Drive, 2 Flameout, 2 FA3 and 2 Aleve.

Right before workout: 2 Alpha Male

Meal 3: (PWO: about to go get) Large sandwich on hoagie roll (white bread), with an extravagantly excessive amount of bacon, turkey, pastrami, american cheese, provolone, banana peppers, tomatoes, onions, oil, vineager, and some light MAYO!!! With some fruit on the side, 400 ml of milk, and sweet tea.

Meal 4: 60g Metabolic Drive 5g creatine monohydrate, 2 Flameout, 2 FA3 and 2 Aleve.

That’s about it on my off days. I switched up the time I go train to try to space out bed time from gym time in order to get enough rest before work. So far, it was a good switch. BUUUUT I completely miss out on breakfast serving time. Which is fine, since I was getting tired of eggs EVERY DAY!

I walk over 2 miles a day here and wear my duty gear for most of the distance during nights I work. Off days are probably more like 3 miles since I walk a mile for every meal (half mile there, half mile back).

Time to go shower and eat! I’m FREAKIN STARVED!!!
