Yeah. I can’t believe it either. I gotta keep up my tough guy rep, though! haha

I started a blog… well, I REstarted blogging. I write a lot of crap and this will be pretty all-encompassing. From lifting, personal-life related things, rants, maybe recipes, and some funny stuff thrown in, it should be entertaining for some.

I don’t have facebook and I want people to read some of the stuff I have to say! Thanks for reading and thanks for commenting if y’all decide to do either.

Squat day!!! Neck/upper back is kinda jacked from gettin tased yesterday. Lol

YOU HAVE SUCH A COOL JOB! Beats the hell outta customer service shit, anyway…

Have fun squattin’!

He sure does love his belly scratches/rubs. (I do, too!)

TRAINING:

PVC/Warm-up

BJ’s

holding an 8kg KB, 5x3

SQUAT

285x5 (legs kinda tired from conditioning)
325x5 (felt a little better)
365x5 (felt like I coulda done about 10)

NECK

25lbx2 sets of 25

FRONT SQUAT (BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUTEE!!!)

135x2 sets of 20

FINISHED!!!

CONDITIONING:

2 mile walk with the pup

NOTES:

The coniditioning is making my legs tired. I expected this and it will get better. Then I’ll get to that big ass hill!!!

Squat still feels spot on. My best lift by far.

Short workout before work and long walk with the dog. He’s my homie!!!

Listening to the album Camp by Childish Gambino during the walk. Good stuff!

That’s all for now.

I’m the main desk sergeant. This means I answer phones a lot, direct patrols, and blah blah blah. It seems like customer service half of the time! LOL I really hate it but I’m really good at it. I’m a better patrolman, but no one can really multi-task well enough to work up there so, I guess I get stuck with it. I should promote pretty soon and I’ll be running the shift, so I’ll have someone doing this job for me!

I think working with the deaf and all that sounds pretty cool, too. You get a lot of respect for that.

Are you still going to run 5-3-1 when you do your conditioning block? Word to the wise: Knock your DL and Squat training max down 10%. I did this after my last meet (took 20% off of my meet totals) and I don’t regret it a bit. It kept me fresh for the conditioning as I eased into it and after a few months I had caught up and was busting PR’s…it is definitely better to take a step back now than petering out before you hit your conditioning goals and get frustrated and change direction.

My training maxes are actually pretty low. I kept them the same as they had been for two blocks before. I think with the improved quality (not quantity) in my diet, I should be ok. Also, I’m just did a “5” week the past week and next week will be a Deload lifting wise but still with the conditioning. I’m gonna try this and see where I am at the end of the week. If I feel ready to go, I’ll stick with these training maxes. If not, I’ll drop them 10%.

I’m a bit crazy and I’ve modified 5/3/1 a few times and it’s worked for me. We’ll see how this goes.

WORD IS BOND!!! You know the FRONT SQ STATUS!!! :D!!!

THAT pooper is adorable!!! (puppy)

Switching my training to the morning is bullshit!! haha

Deload press and conditioning coming up in about 30 minutes.

Forgive my tardiness, but that taser vid was amazingly hilarious.

HAHA!! It was NOT fun. I think I would have seriously damaged some people if they hadn’t told me to get back down.

TRAINING (deload):

PVC/Warm-up

MED BALL SLAM

3x3

PRESS

110x5
130x5
150x5

CHINS

5x5

CONDITIONING:

Prowler

E-prowler+180lb x 8 trips@40 yds

DONE!

NOTES:

Splitting up my lifting and conditioning is not going to work. I have plenty of time in the morning to do both. Doing my conditioning at night will mess up my sleep. So, it’ll be lifting then conditioning in the morning before work.

My legs felt like they were going to fall off of trips 7 and 8. My speed is getting a little better over all but my last trip was about half the speed of number one. My lungs, ass, quads, and calves were all on fire!!! This is good.

I almost puked thre times before I started training. That morning shake goes down funny sometimes. Sure is helping with my hunger throughout the day, though.

I’m doing a deload now with the weights to help my body acclimate to the conditioning a little better. I’ll see how this works. I’m going to jump back into a base 5/3/1 for a cycle before swtitching back to the 3/5/1 for PL.

That’s it. Off to shower and head to work. It’s not even noon yet and I’m already at 130g of protein, NICE!

Excerpt from my personal blog:

With all these specifics in mind, I live each day as the person I aspire to be. I live as a good husband now, but I?m not married. I am giving extra considerationto my life choices so I can be a good role model for my children, but I have none. I am proud of the steps I am taking to further my opportunities after I make this career change. And I am doing everything I can to be a generally good, useful person someone can be proud to call a friend and someone they can depend on when the lesser of their acquaintances are ?too busy?.

Read and comment!!

Late start.

Deload Deathlifts and some Prowlering!

Update later.

TRAINING:

PVC/Warm Up

DEATHLIFTS!! (deload)

245x5
285x5
325x5

CONDITIONING:

E-Prowler+180lbsx8 trips@40 yds

NOTES:

Weights are light, but still seem fast. The narrowed DL stance is feeling really good.

I am accumulating fatigue from the conditioning and will be taking it a little easy the next two days. Lots of good foods and sleep.

Class starts on the 7th. I’m taking a Drugs in Sport course online and am really looking forward to it. I am VERY close to finishing my Associate’s in Criminal Justice (school combined with my active duty training and service) and will hopefully finish my B.S. in Execise and Sport Science in the next year and a half or so (still kinda dragging ass with my English requisites). VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS!! I’ll be the first one in my family with any sort of degree and this is something I’ve been working at for a long time!!

That’s it for now. I MAY post up a sample food log of what I’ve been sticking to for the past week or so. No change in weight but I swear I can see my abs just a little better! lol Probably just the lighting in my bedroom.

BOOMPEACEPOW!!!

TRAINING: (deload)

PVC/Warm-up

BENCH

145x5
175x5
195x5

(all reps paused and FAST)

TBAR

1-2 platesx10-15 for 5 sets.

(simulated bench descent)

FINITO!

NOTES:

Still working on getting my feet under me better and staying with my toes north/south. Getting TIGHTER!!!

Reps felt pretty fast. I am also feeling a better STOP at the bottom of each rep. Still need to work on exploding the bar up and not just pressing into it.

No conditioning today. Did a ton of yard work and taking the pupperoni to the lake later for some bird chasing. He may join in this time!! (ba-dum tish!)

PT test on Tuesday. Not training til after the test. That’s it, no more for this log entry. Have a good weekend.

that’s one thing I would want as house for–yard work!! So satisfying mowing the lawn for a few hours!! Good enough cardio for me any time.

That’s awesome about your degrees workage! What do you want to do with it?!! Its cool being the coolest of your family as well–I secretly think I am myself

I love doing yard work. Great way to spend an afternoon.

I’m looking to finish my associates and BS while I’m in the military for the next two years and hopefully get accepted in a Master’s program to use up my GI Bill. After that, we’ll see. I already have a few options lined up, but I honestly just want to coach. We’ll see what the future has in store.

PT test was cancelled.

TRAINING: (Deload)

PVC/Warm Up

SQUAT

245x5
285x5
325x5

CHINS

5x8

DONE!

NOTES:

Deload worked. I feel like ripping the doors off the gym today.

For anyone who’s been reading my blog on wordpress, I’m working a few things in life out and I reassed my progress yesterday. I need to step up my game in all areas. Just keep pushing forward.

Ready to get back at it heavy in a couple days.

In the past two weeks I’ve lost about 3 lbs and my pants fit a tad looser.

Boom! Getting a little more North of Vag by the day.
