As soon as these new forum was created, I think most people knew that this would be a troll haven. It’s simply too easy to fuck with the fatties in here.
If you’ve seen the Bodybuilding and Powerlifting sections of the site, there’s far less, if any, trolling that goes on in there. It’s mostly here because everyone gets so easily riled up.
I’m surprised I got called out as I’m just a simple spectator to this lulzy hilarity. If I want to talk Powerlifting and Training Theory, I set those discussions in my Training Log(s) or the Powerlifting section. I post on Seventstring.org to talk guitars and music theory.
It’s really hard to take this section of the site seriously, especially when arguably the most important person here is this guy.
I mean, really guys.
Why so serious?
TL;DR Serious post is serious. Gone back to watching and eating the proverbial popcorn.
I’m the most important?
LOL
I still haven’t figured out what I should be ashamed of. I got to get direction from one of the best trainers…and right after that got into the best shape of my life…and now weigh more than I did in that video with more muscle an less fat.
Uh, yeah…ashamed.
look let’s be real here people.

Thank you for saying it. I thought I was the only one.
A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far Far Away…
Episode VI
Return of the Bulk
Professor Xwalker has returned to his home planet of Poptartooine in an attempt to rescue his friend MattyXL Solo from the clutches of the vile powerlifter Detazathoth the Hutt.
Little does Professor know that the AESTHETIC LEAN EMPIRE has secretly begun construction on a new armored cardio station even more powerful than the first dreaded Stair Master.
When completed, this ultimate weapon against BF% will spell certain doom for the large band of fat struggling to remain around the waists of the permabulk nation…
on a semi-serious note though…
…I personally think the introduction of the Bigger/Stronger/Leaner forum was a really good idea! It means that we can ALL post here regardless of our goals and get advice from people whose goals are similar.
Before this forum, if some guy weighed 160lbs but wanted to cut down a bit, he’d have been ripped to shreds in the bodybuilding forum for cutting too early. And rightly so! I mean nobody with real bodybuilding aspirations should take a course of action like that, so that poster would get turned inside out.
It’s the same if someone posted on the bodybuilding forum about getting stronger. He’d get the whole “it’s not about strength it’s about physique” spiel that was so popular. Maybe that poster would get directed to the powerlifting forum, but if powerlifting wasn’t something they were interested in then that wouldn’t be right for them.
Enter the BSL forum!
You wanna cut from 170 down to 150 for beach season? That’s fine!
You wanna add 20lbs to your power snatch? Good for you!
You wanna bulk up to do some damage at your gym’s strongman event? Go for it!
I see this forum as a catch all for anything related to weight lifting and strength training, from crossfit to physique competitions. How can it be bad? Not everybody here wants to be a competing bodybuilder or powerlifter. Some of us like how weightlifting makes us look, but also want to be strong. Hell, I’d say that probably everyone here cares about both those things to some degree.
As for the polarity between the #fatdicks and the #skinnypoofs, that’s more just about a personality clash between certain posters than about there being an actual division between posting camps.
For example we have Rattlehead who is rocking those hawt abz, and that’s his current focus, but he’s keen to get back to eating and lifting big to get a bodyweight military press. Sounds like he wants to be bigger, stronger and leaner to me.
Then we have our very own Nutty Professor, who, despite being considered the websites “full-house” poster boy, has stated numerous times that he wants to be BIGGER, STRONGER and LEANER, it’s just that devoting his time to a serious cut is not conducive to his ultimate goal at this current time. Not that it never will be, just that it is not currently.
So really, we are ALL trying to get to the same place, we’re just taking different routes.
People say the forums have gone to shit, but I don’t see it. For every shitstorm thread I see a million others where people are helping each other to achieve their goals and get healthier. Not everyone on the site gets along, but you wouldn’t expect everyone in any community to always be harmonious. I think we just need a bit more of the “agree to disagree” attitude…
TL;DR - I just want us all to be friends.

Love the good natured humor…and I agree that this forum should be a catch all for things weightlifting related.
Everybody should have a seat at the table…except Steely, he’s gon need two.
we should have a “bigger fatter” forum for all the “bulkers”

Well deserved for that 405 front squat. Coffee and poptarts will be served at this meeting.

At the end of the day isn’t there a little bit of bashing from both sides of this? Mainly this whole hashtag hawtabz bullshit.
FYI I am nether here nor there regarding wether I want to be lean 24/7 or not BUT I know that without a doubt I will grouped into this “hawt abz group” that supposedly doesn’t want to get bigger or stronger just because I am currently lean and not large.
Where on this forum or even site is there someone who doesn’t want to get bigger and stronger?!
Come on man, your main goal is to enter a physique contest, am I right? and thats awesome good for you, you look great, but your main goal is not bigger and stronger.
Actually I feel right on this forum “bigger stronger leaner” most people are into aesthetics than getting stronger. All the bashing I see is mainly against the poloarizing figure PX and how he became to represent the fullhouse section of this site.
Indeed I am entering a physique contest, but thats only a goal for this summer cause I am lean. I’m back doing 5/3/1 (hell, one of the goals I said in that thread a couple of days ago was to get back up to a bodyweight military press) and will be doing it indefinitely and of course I wanna get bigger.
I am only 21 years old, I am by no means big currently because of my short term goal but look to what I could be like in 10 years time.
Who on earth would be satisfied with what I have currently?!
You are right about this forum, and I think the biggest problem the forum has is the labelliing and the sort of stereotyping that comes with it.
Oh you dont care about being shredded you must be a fullhouser that eats whatever he wants, oh you are interested in lean gains you must be all about the hawtabz etc.
Agreed, and dont shit on yourself you look awesome and are doing great
thanks man, its really appreciated
on the topic that no one on this forum seems to care about the stronger aspect, would any of the bigger stronger guys such as yourself mattyxl do a coaching thread like the physique ones by zraw and jake?
would be cool to see and would maybe bring that aspect of the forum up more
It would be a cool idea…
well come July or August wanna maybe start a thread to coach me?
I want to be able to bench 140k, squat 180k, and deadlift 200k before 2015, my best lifts are 125k bench, 167 or 162.5k squat and 190ishk dead (done with horrendous form cause I have favourable leverages to just heave the thing up)
I wanna get bigger also and stay fairly lean, like no more than 15% bf, might be an interesting endeavour!

I was under the impression you were someone who in the past bulked up, got fat, then dieted down and decided to stay lean right? Just find it interesting how most people who were heavy take a very anti ‘bulking’ stance after their first succesful cut. I
