From Throwing to Powerlifting...

So I’m currently a thrower in college but I’m having a hard time putting it over school and my grades reflect it. So I think I need to stop, at least for the time being. I was considering giving powerlifting a shot. I’d like to compete raw and do push pull. I prefer not to squat bc I’m feel I need to do it a2g and I’ll lose total points by doing it my way compared to a wide parallel squat. Either way I’ll still training using box squat and front squats. I’m not rly strong by any means since I’ve focused on throwing mainly. My lifts are…
Bench: 215
Squat: 300
Clean: 210
DL: 385
(I’m 18 and weigh 215 btw)
So my question is, I have a workout in mind. Like 5/3/1 and stuff but I was on EFTS and found this and I fit all the categories.

Should I do this workout first??? (the bodybuilding style one) Or do you have other suggestions?

That should definitly help you put on some mass and pounds on your total, i’d give it a go.
Just curious what do you throw?

Discus and hammer/weight.
I love it but I practice everyday for an hour and have weight lifting 3-4 times a week.
Our strength coach is great to. Hes a power lifter who had a raw 500+ bench and a 700+ Squat/DL.
It’s gonna suck not having that and stopping bc I love the sport but I need to remember this is college.
My education is first.

I plan to do that routine above for a month or 2 then switch to a 2 x a week format.

As far as strength sports go, you may want to consider competing in the Scottish Games. As a thrower, it would be a really easy transition into the sport, and it can meld nicely with training for powerlifting.
