Frog Stance Hack Squat

Hi.
I’ve just tried CT’s Frog Stance Hack Squat at my gym, and received some negative feedback from people who’ve told me that lowering the body with the knees flared out is very dangerous…the knees should always be in the same plane as the rest of the body, when doing hack squats…
I wanted to counter their argument, but didn’t know what to day in defence of this exercise. Any suggestions?

Did you ask them why it’s dangerous? I’d be interested to know.

It seems like a perfectly natural movement to me.

I actually started doing these about 6 wks ago and I’ve found that they are no more dangerous than any other hack squat movement. I did notice that as I increased the weight I would feel more pressure on my knees at the bottom of the rep, but as long as you lower the weight in a controlled manner…there’s nothing to worry about.
