Dips were strong this morning, for me, on that first set. I was surprised. I did not feel strong. It must have been my Amazon coffee pre workout? The shrug/up right row/deadlift trio pumped my latissimus quite well. I upped my neck work to 20 lbs. I lay two 10 lbs. discs on my forehead and push up, then lower slowly.
I am ready for a nap, and I just sat down at my desk. I rarely napped, but after the Corona virus naps became part of my usual after school activity.
Below is my former workout partner Klaus. My wife gave me the framed photo the other day. He was ornery. Known as the Intimidator by neighbors. The neighbor’s pit bull charged my wife one day while she was in the yard gardening. I do not blame the dog. The owner thought she was a dog whisperer. She could not whisper shit. Klaus saved the day. He earned a notch in his ear. The old saying, German Shepherds are brave, was on display that afternoon. It is interesting, three years after we had to put him to sleep, I still miss him. Fritz is amazing, but I still miss Klaus.
Sorry for the musings.
Anyway, great session. Good first set of dips, very good lat pump, see you Monday.
Great looking dog and a wonderful story. Hoping to get a dog someday if the kids get to a point where they are doing their own laundry and cleaning up after themselves…
You might be able to see them right now. Check for them tonight. People all over the US are seeing them. We had people putting pics of it on Facebook here in Georgia this morning.
I held my own with the dips this week…. I might add ten pounds next week. The plan, I think I might have written this previously is a set of 15 of bodyweight dips. My current PR as a senior (that still sounds odd) is 12. Fifteen is doable.
Reps for up right row and deadlifts increased. Just back off then pushing ahead again. I get to a point where that seems to be a necessity. I seem to inch forward after each new push.
On certain lifts I can add some free weights. I need to be a bit more careful with my belly button hernia. I cannot afford that being surgically repaired. I give it a push now and then trying to keep it in place. It is obvious my health care costs more for less. Kind of like Quarter Pounders being smaller.
I can say, this week I worked hard. I used to hurl after Nautilus workouts. No need to go that route any longer. I avoid vomiting at all costs now. Like Mr. Monk.
Yesterday was stressful. Classroom observation, it seemed to go well.
Then I needed to talk to an insurance adjuster concerning a fender bender I had Tuesday. The other party’s insurance is going to pay for damages. That was a stress reducer.
