Post Session: 20 minute Infrared Dry

It took me one three hour nap and some effort to get started. But the post workout glow has been quite relaxing.

Not a lot of reps, but the dips felt strong. I can still feel th the swole. Martha Stewart might say: It is a good feeling. :joy::joy::joy:

The shrugs and up right row work well together. Again, A good swole. Whether it means a good session, or not, the pump at least gives me a sense of accomplishment. Resistance does as well of course.

The dead lift… no back discomfort. To quote Martha… Nah.

I must confess, last week was an effing food fest. Shameful really. I have held my own today, but last mid-week? Holy crud. If it was animal or vegetable, I was digesting it.

Well, today was a good session! See you Tuesday!

Well, this evening’s attempt was inadequate. I felt like :poop: . So, here is the result:

Bench Press: 200 lbs. 2x10, 1 x8

That is it. Mind and body said, ā€œFudge you!ā€

I think I am going to head back into the home gym this evening and give Round 2 a try.

See you this evening, hopefully. If not, Thursday!

Edit: I have been mulling over the idea of finally joining a gym. Attending a gym might work some of the hermit out of me. But, that is the possible number one reason I would not join. People. Then there is the monthly fee, tied into a contract. The gym I looked at was $80 a month. There are two more options. I will investigate those. I will report back. Also, I will have to ask the little field marshal and see what she says?

Looks like solid benching to me! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thank you! Usually I fight my way through something like that, but last evening was just blah.

I think I might do some Diamond Dallas Page for a bit. 12-13 years ago I worked my way up to his most brutal workout. I forget the name. But I often did the ā€œstrength Builderā€ and ā€œDiamond Cutterā€ workouts. I did have people comment on how fit I looked. Though I am not sure DDP fits into the T-Nation community well. Though I have never had anyone mock my Soloflex workouts. Brace yourselves.

I joined one a few months ago. Initially went a few times a week, then once a week and now never. I’m going to give it one more run, then cancel if I can’t get to it. I just don’t like actually having to go when I could go into garage. it is a good experiment. I like the access to equipment tho. Particularly, all the hammer strength, dip bar and pec deck.

Ain’t that the truth!

80 bucks a month is pretty high. We pay around 40 down here in Georgia.

Agree with Trent. Bench press looked good. :+1:

Here in Oz, $15 - 20 per week seems to be the going rate also. I prefer to put those $$$ back into the home setup instead. As long as it gets use that is!

I agree. $80 seems a little high. I pay $9 a week for 24/7 access for four really awesome gyms. I have the home gym, but I prefer going to the commercial gym. I feel I am much more motivated. Plus, I have met some really cool people.

OK Then?

Got up and got going! Tuesday was a fail, but today was good.

Pre-Workout: Tim Horton’s Coffee

It did not seem like that session should have taken 45 minutes. Apparently it did. Saturday is a birthday party for our five year old grand-daughter. I think I will take a pair of dumbbells. A couple of Rogue bands.

It felt good to feel good this morning.

See you Saturday!

On the road. My son in law has a pair of dumbbells. I made due.

Standing press: 6 x10

Some push ups: not many

One armed row: 5x10

Standing Calf Raises: 3x12

I did a fifth exercise, but I am drawing a blank.

Anyway, here in Utah until tomorrow. See you Tuesday!

The time change had me up early. I felt good. I figured why not Monday instead of Tuesday? Today it is:

I felt strong. That showed up in the bench, behind neck press and front squat. I kept a good pace as well. Again, not a race, but well paced at about 30 seconds between sets. As long as it takes me to reconfigure the machine between exercises.

Once again I appear to be moving up again in resistance on some exercises. They all seem to be in today’s pushing categories.

Saturday night, Sunday morning, was a gut ache-fest. After game seven treats, I felt like poo. This morning that seems to have resolved itself.

My neuropathy has been reminding me it is going nowhere. Fortunately my strength training does not exacerbate it. I am not sure it helps. It just is.

I hope everyone has a splendid week. See you Wednesday!

Edit: I caught Will Tennyson’s latest YouTube video last night after getting home from Utah. He visited 5 different Chicago area gyms, ā€œworstā€ to ā€œbestā€. His ā€œmid levelā€ pick was ā€œQuadsā€. ā€œQuadsā€ had a circuit of the ā€œoldā€ Nautilus machines. He seems to have never experienced the old, vomit in the parking lot, Nautilus. I found that a bit odd. But he is a youngster. Seeing that equipment I told my wife we were moving to Chicago. That produced a snort.

Agree 100%, would be proud of those numbers.

Bravo! Very well done.

Wow, I didn’t know Quads gym was so awesome. It’s not far from me. I might have to change gyms.

Thank you, but do not forget, that is band work on a Soloflex, not free weights. The numbers obviously are different. I just feel the need to be up front.

Start Time: 5:27 PM End Time: 6:00 PM

Pre Workout: Amazon Columbian (coffee)

Vacuum x 30

Incline Press: 3x12 (150)

Behind Neck Pull Down: 3x9 (110)

Seated Press: 3x12 (50)

Standing Curl: 3x10 (50)

Squats: 3x10 (160)

Neck Work: 3x12. (15 lbs.)

Woke at 5:00 AM, rolled off the couch (I like sleeping by the pellet stove…), and started reading. So here it is PM.

I am not sure which time of day is best. I guess as long as I get a session in. I swallowed a cup of Amazon brand coffee and went at it. It was good. (The workout)

I have been doing the neck work more regularly. I believe I am having less incidences with the surprise neck and shoulder pain I have been having. Those are always inconvenient. I have a neurological appointment in December. It is x-ray time. We will see how that works out.

I had a coworker comment on my strength training yesterday. I just grinned. Nothing like a dorky grin.

Anyway, see you all Friday!
