Pre-work out: Doughnut Shop Blend

I would say I am still shaking. My thighs and torso are feeling swole. I either increased resistance and/or reps. But… I almost checked out mentally. About half way through I started thinking about walking off.
I stuck it out. Maybe a short nap now. One way or the other Easter break is over.

Well. Now I am back to work I start taking time to cook, etc. Below, two Jimmy Dean pre cooked sausage. A hash brown patty, plus four eggs with jack cheese, and Valentina hot sauce.
Another cup of caffeine, and 6 oz of Cara Cara orange juice.
One of three antique orange juicers I own. Why three? Well I went to bed one evening, took an ambien, and a few days later three antique orange juicers arrived.
That is actually better than the day Jenna Jameson’s Greatest Hits was delivered. That was sent back. Not long after the ambien disappeared.

Hey, it could have been worse. My dad who had COPD took an ambien once, and we had the call the amalance (mispelled on purpose) because we could not wake him up all day. Three trips to the hospital and a few days later he asked for another one. My mom lost her shit! Needless to say there was no more ambien. You got off cheap the antique orange juicers! ![]()
I have a funny ambien story too. My aunt and uncle both take it. My dad and I went on a motorcycle trip to Sturgis. On the way there we stopped in Kansas City, where they live and we are originally from, to stay with them a few nights.
They told us that they take ambien and sometimes would sleep walk. This was news, as I was going to be sleeping on a pullout couch in the living room right outside their bedroom door.
One night I woke up to my ankle being really cold and wet. Apparently my aunt had sleep walked to the kitchen, got a cup of yogurt, and dropped it on my ankle. I woke up to her actually eating it off my ankle. Talk about crazy. ![]()

As a young officer I was a Drug Recognition Expert. Ambien is no joke and dangerous. I investigated several accidents involving people taking it.

I will be back. The Alsatian woke me up this morning after I slept through my alarm. I still have a workout to do post work.
Just getting caught up: Nice consistent work in here, as expected.
I recently ditched my Keurig for a percolator. It’s been a week or two (I think, days turn into weeks turn into months without me noticing anymore), but I’m not convinced just yet… Anyway, here’s hoping your transition is solidly positive!

Soloflex II
No pre workout caffeine tonight.
Got it done.
Squats were lackluster. Everything else either increased or was the start of higher resistance. Not a lot to write home about. But it is about consistency. That might be one of the benefits, for me, in a home gym. It is not fancy, however, it is a walk up the stairs. I have a good workout partner.

I see you’re doing BTN press. Lot of people are against them. One of the standbys of throwers. Feel any adverse affect to your shoulders?
Once in awhile I get pain in my left shoulder and arm. The first time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack. However, the initial “pop” was caused during a Super Slow set of side lateral raises on a Total Gym with Rogue bands for added resistance. For the next month my workouts consisted of just legs (leg press), pull downs, rows, curls, and dips were OK. Nothing involving a press. Now, on occasion, if I get to robust with the behind the neck press, it aggravates my shoulders and the shoulder/arm pain returns. I have talked with my neurologist about it. He suggests I have a pinched nerve. I keep the resistance manageable, and do not take sets to, or near failure.
Another late sleep. I woke at 2:30 AM, showered, shaved, started to dress and noticed it was not time to get up. So I went back to bed and rolled out at 6:00 AM. I have done that before. Walked into the kitchen one morning, dressed for work and ready to make breakfast. My daughter let me know it was 1:15 AM. An afternoon workout today. See you then. I do have an optometrist appointment at 11:30, I have a spot in my vision, it started last week. He wants to check it, just to make sure. It is probably a floater. A workmate gets them. I asked him what causes them. his answer? “Age…” See you later today.

This turned out to be a good session. Ten more reps than last week. I am pooped from the workout. I feel spent. I am horizontal at the moment.
I saw the optometrist yesterday. I have a floater in my eye. Nothing for me to worry about.

Pre&Workout: Doughnut Shop Blend. Plus Nightwish Wacken 2013, headliners.
A good session. I upped the resistance to 200 ( not pounds, strap resistance) with bench press and front squats. It worked well. I was within the 8-12 reps range on each set.
My new goal:
My Soloflex 100 straps. I could do reps with these when I was a pup. Now I can barely budge them. One rep will be fine
