I know what your talking about. They seemed pretty gimmicky (at first glance) but when I thought about it more, maybe not so much. Does it adjust the resistance based on how much force output you apply against the bar?
That would be awesome to have around. I want to try it out. Although it’d be difficult to give someone an answer if they asked “how much ya bench”
Thank You! I am familiar with Dr. Patrick through her interviews with Peter Attia. Of course the strength, bone density, and muscle mass are important. But improved cognitive skills might be the bonus. I am not fading, but occasionally I find myself standing in the pantry holding a cup of noodles when I was after freezer bags. Thank you for the link.
I’m planning to order some creatine tomorrow, so I will be joining you on that journey. I used to take it back when I was in college and definitely noticed a change in my ability to lift and also body composition. I’d love to have some added muscle mass but would really love the cognitive benefits.
A good session. Sans ab stimulator I completed everything else in 24:00+ minutes.
I used the “2nd” bar for dips. Three sets and a good pectoral and triceps pump. The Meadows’ row, I still feel it.
I went today because yesterday I was pooped. I slept excellent last evening. Aside from having to take the dogs out ever two hours to play ball. But after 20 minutes I would go right back to sleep.
Hi there. Been following you for a couple of weeks now. Question. What are AB Stimulators? I also notice you don’t raise the weight or reps on progressive sets. Do you find each set harder than the last? I actually saw Meadow rows for the first time in someone else’s log and had to look them up. Looks interesting. Notice you have “workout name” on your log. Are you following a specific system? Sorry for the questions. My work outs are kinda out date so trying to keep up.
A good pump filled workout. My upper legs feel it most this morning, and considering their match stick quality…
I moved to two grams of creatine Saturday(?). I am sure that must be to little and too early to be facilitating a pump. But a rare thigh pump.
I have replaced my Keurig with an Amazon Basics pod/grounds (percolator) coffee maker. Much cheaper, tastes the same. Not much more to bring this Monday of Easter break.
See you Wednesday.
I know why my shoulders hurt today. Yesterday I went arsch over tea kettle down the stairs. Somehow I landed on my hands and knees. Quite jarring.
Both Shepherd’s descended on me, I guess to make sure I had not broke my hip. But with comedic timing, my male GSD, somehow divining I was OK, dropped a tennis right there for me to throw. Bless him.
Questions, let’s give a few answers. Hopefully I can answer questions adequately.
About a year ago, at the age of 60 I informed my Dr. I was pregnant.
“No you are not,” he replied.
“But look at my belly button,” I said, showing the protruding port of life.
I have an umbilical hernia. The Ab stimulator, theoretically, is a device that straps around my waist. Electrodes gently, or not so gently, stimulate the muscles around my failing umbilical gate. Does it work? I do not know. I also perform vacuums, which an important website said are safe.
Raising the weight? I do increase resistance, slowly at times. Reps, or both reps and resistance are increased. However, I have reached a point with bands (elastomers) that an addition of bands “thickens” the resistance. At times halting progress. Today’s workout, however, was a bit different. I should be increasing resistance on the behind neck press. A year+ ago I hurt my shoulder doing side lateral raises. Occasionally, this morning for instance, by the end of set two I could feel my left shoulder pinging. On set III I cut it short.
Workout name? Solofex I, II, III? In 1988(?) Soloflex came out with the first infomercial, ever. In it was a 20-30 minute workout designed for the Soloflex. Those are what I am doing, for the most part.I have adapted here or there, swapping out exercises.
A good session. Felt a better than usual pump in my arms and shoulders. I am not sure how long it takes creatine to kick in? But maybe what little I am taking is starting to do its thing.
A good workout. A very good pump. Still feeling the Meadows’ Rows in my scapulas. Up right rows worked my shoulders well. Dips are dips, a whole upper body workout.
Needed floor time after the dead lifts.
Still listening to Victor Davis Hanson podcast.
Three days of wind advisory. An Aspen is leaning against the front porch. I need less wind. That sounded odd.
A good week overall though. A week off has been good.
See you Monday!
On another note, after several attempts and losses, I beat one of my chess nemesis yesterday. Aside from a queen sacrifice that saved the day, I did not play particularly well. But, I pulled it out.
I have read a few confessions concerning food intake. In which case: Forgive me, for last night a friend and I had a Gregory Peck film festival. We ended up watching Zulu with Stanley Baker and Michael Caine. Fantastic film. Sabaton even has a song about Rorke’s Drift. I ate pizza, chips, dip, I drank real Coke. Amazingly, as much as I ate, I did not get reflux. Hat’s off to you all!
