Up at 4:30 AM

Pre-work out: San Francisco Bay Area Coffee Co. Doughnut Shop Blend.

Then:

A very good workout. Reps were up on every exercise. The sudden jump in bench press helped with that.

25:00 Mins

A good post workout feel. Particularly legs/tris/shoulders.

See you Wednesday!

Thank you Shane.

Start: 5:30 AM

Last evening’s peddling went well. This AM also was good. That post session glow is glowing. The squats had me sucking wind.

The new resistance bands are good. See you Friday!

I forgot, our new granddaughter is doing well. My daughter is a bit irritated, our German Shepherd is doing what German Shepherds do, placing himself between baby and everyone but mum. He is not aggressive, but doing his shepherding duties. It is when he licks the formula off of the baby’s face that gets my daughter going.

Nice squats! Anything over a triple on squats always gets my heart rate up. 3 sets of 8 will certainly get the job done.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I could not wait (30 years ago) for work to be over. I than raced home for Valentine’s Day. I would give each of my girls a card. I would give my wife glowers, and maybe something racy. But certainly flowers and a card. What did I get? Possibly a can of Slimfast.

Well, not counting the ab stimulator, I began about 5:40.

I did not race through, but I did finish in 20 minutes. Dips were a struggle from the start.

Time to shower!

Edit: Yardio… Thirty minutes of the Latvian Snow Shovel Challenge. I am sure there will be more when I get home. Sorry Chicken Little!

I think I have some yardio coming tonight.

I was going to peddle this morning. I shoveled instead. The cardio thing. I believe more is on the way. Targhee and Jackson Hole must be thrilled. Also, they have teams of Latvian Snow Shovelers.

Peddling tomorrow.

Definitely looks like some good cardio there. Our entire town would shut down if it did that here.

My daughter married the district’s former superintendent’s son. More than once we would have a day like yesterday and work. People actually asked me why we were having school? They asked me because? My daughter was married to the district chief. I had some kind of inside knowledge. The human Magic 8 Ball. Anyway, it was a decent accumulation, but it is nothing like Truckee or Buffalo.

In Brooklyn, schools never closed - half the teachers would bang in and we gather by grades in auditorium, cafeteria. They’d give me thirty five kids I didn’t know and I’d have them all day.

Kids needed to be fed, parents needed to work. No bueno.

We have very few snow days. Last year we had one cold day, -28* F. You are right. Parents work, kids need school breakfast and lunch, and I get bored as hell at home. Twenty years ago I worked 30 miles farther north. They did get snow days. But, usually I was not contacted. (I was the out of towner…) I would get in my Subaru, drive thirty miles and find the place empty. I would throw on my running shoes and shorts and have the indoor track to myself. Or, the gym had a Nautilus Nitro circuit (2). I would put a circuit in. Then drive home. Usually they were probably quick to call snow days, but on occasion the staff would get trapped in school with the students. Yes, sleep over. Fortunately I missed those grand events.

It seems like when I was a kid if didn’t matter how much snow we had or how cold it was, we were going. Now if there is a dusting the schools around here close.

I drove to work this morning to get the information for my evaluation prepared. I was not paying attention to what was taking place outside. When I left I found my car covered in snow. It is back and still falling. Latvian Snow Shovel tomorrow.

Today:

Twenty minutes with the ab stimulator
21 minute sauna at 150°

I just realized my infrared dry sauna tops out at 150° F. I read where some people claim to endure 170° F. I think 150° is plenty.

See you tomorrow!
