OK this early evening. I seem to have run into a worn out stage. My pressing is a struggle. Pulldowns were as well. I will finish out this week. Cut my resistance and try to let everything chill for a bit.
I mentioned changing workouts. That might be a bonus. I still like the 20-30 minute time frame. So, for a bit, without not doing sessions, I need to develop something similar, but new. I have never not done a full body workout, but maybe I will try a split approach.
So, I hope everyone is well, see you Thursday!
Edit: I weighed this morning, at work. (9.11) I was dressed. I weighed 203 lbs. Sans clothing I think that would put me a tad below 200 lbs.
Good looking session. If you havenāt tried a split plan then give it a shot. You can always switch back. I did whole body sessions for years and then switched to a split about a year ago and got a huge pump. I have more or less stuck to that ever since but once in a while when I have a lot of work/travel going on I will switch back to whole body and I usually really enjoy the change. Iāve been doing whole body the last two weeks and have actually gotten a nice pump from that. From a wear and tear standpoint, my experience has been that whole body sessions are much less taxing on the joints and cause less overuse injuries.
Better. For the most part. Three sets of twelve for incline press and squats (actually. 2x12, 1x15). Increased resistance on curls. Reversed on pull downs and seated shoulder press.
I was watching Israetel last evening. I found his first set to momentary failure, then the next two sets to match that first set interesting. Any exercise done with an asterisk next to it was accomplished this way. Once I set the number of reps in the first set, I did what it took to match that number in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
Edit: OK, I read through the transcript from Mike Israetelās training session. This how it goes. I do the first set to failure. which, I am not sure that happened on every exercise. But, I matched the number of reps in the following sets. Even if I had to stop for 5-10 between reps, I moved it forward. Obviously the pull downs and behind neck press I brain farted and stopped at my usual 12 on the first set. The incline curls were done correctly. I should be quite sore come tonight.
I obviously did not apply this effort toward front squats and triceps pushdown.
Reps and resistance have increased. But I felt worn out. Last week I had a slight headache. Thursday and Friday nausea and the Teton Two Step. Today, coughing and phlegm. Possibly Corona. My wife is an RN, she can give me the swab.
I realized, fishing, I burn maybe a few calories, but I am not home eating all day. School has been rough. The student store is fifty feet from my room. Thousands of calories. I know I have been drinking too much soda because I have had reflux. This is my responsibility though.
I have been mulling over doing some DDP Yoga for a bit. But despite feeling like poo I have not felt crapped out like I was 2-3 weeks ago.
Sorry youāve been feeling rough. I feel similar and am hoping it passes soon. I quit drinking soda about ten years ago and that has helped tremendously with keeping the weight off. Nowadays I drink black coffee all morning, then switch over to water after that. I bring one of those big 50 ounce Yeti water bottles to work and usually end up filling it up at least once during the day.
That truly is a lot of liquid. Thank you for the heads up! I have a week to go until potato harvest break. I can expectorate in front of my students until then.
The pull down, shoulder press, and standing curl, were done to failure on the first set⦠Then the rep count from set one was matched in sets two and three. Regardless of time, mini breaks, breaths, etc. I am good for that during one workout a week. But, a very good pump this evening.
Incline press⦠It must have been the French roast and my short nap. The first set, even after a slight increase in resistance, was a surprise. Too many reps. Certainly a bigger increase next week in resistance.
My quarterly docās visit this afternoon: BP 128/7?, oxygen 94%, heart rate 57, weight 206 in mid afternoon⦠(Undressed, probably 200-202 in AM).
Edit: I weighed in at 202 lbs. this morning. Lucky, because I have been eating pretty sloppy.
The DDP yoga appears to be the real deal. My wife and I started yoga a while back, and I really liked it. In fact, in need to get back into it when it gets colder.
Dips. 3x7
Assisted Pull Ups 2x6, 1x5
Up Right Row. 2x10, 1x9
Donkey Press. 3x12
Dead Lift. 3x8
25:00 +/- minutes
Underwhelming today. Later in the PM. Cold/allergies seem to be back. I thought of taking the day off. But then, I would not have been able to post a workout.
Edit: Friday I got to work early. I ensconced myself in the staff bathroom. I removed my clothes. I weighed myself. I was 202 lbs. So just about where I thought I should be.
