By this time of year they are starting to get fished out. Though the weather had been fairly warm. Now the bigger trout are starting to move up from the deeper parts because the water is cooling.

Yes. About 50 minutes from where I live. The nearest town, by car is 13-14 miles away. On the top photo, if you see that small canyon, there are three more small lakes/ponds available to fish. Usually it is very quiet. Had the air not been smoky from fires I could have rotated right one more time and taken a photo of Mt. Moran and the Tetons for you.

Dry Sauna. 20 mins

A new dry sauna. At 22 years old, the old sauna was pooping out. But, my wife’s cycling friend took it.

Reps way up with either the same or increased resistance. Maybe the change from early AM to mid-PM made a difference. No caffeine either since noon.

School has been good so far. I had one student bump into my shoulder the first day.

Off to the sauna.

He has settled down. He wandered in today and chatted with me. It is a small school. Holding grudges doesn’t work.

I have had better workouts. Dips were weak. The assisted pull ups were good. Overall the same number of total reps as last Saturday. Which I realized, last week I over added my reps by… a lot.

Getting a session in today was lucky. Between a combination of new glasses, and trying to pick up newspapers off the work steps yesterday, I re-learned what gravity is. Somehow I kept from dropping my melon on the concrete. My left leg and right forearm hurt like a $#@&! last night though. Thirty-six hours later I was good to go. Mostly… The lesson learned, besides not falling, is strength training helps one to avoid (hopefully) more serious injuries when doing a Humpty Dumpty. Better recovery as well, I guess.

The new sauna is up and running. Yes my wife helped me put it together. It no longer hides in plain sight. Heats much faster than the old one. For a one person sauna it is more comfortable. I am glad I bought it.

Activity Day:

Five hours of fishing. I walked a mile or so to find other spots to work my way to the lake. A lot of reeds and willow. Crawled over rocks. Brace yourselves, I caught a beautiful rainbow trout. It was its lucky day, I catch and release. Next year I am going to fly fish. I have an excellent bamboo fly rod I never use, time to start.

I was a bit flat today. Flat bench is stalled. It will get there. Pull downs were like a horror movie. I was being chased by zombies but I could not get over the fence. Behind the neck press and skull crushers had added resistance. So a drop in reps is expected.

I swapped out leg press and swapped in front squats. We will see.
I also posted a picture of my log, but I do not know where my phone is. I will find it.

I have not caught a lot of fish this year. But, the ones I have landed have been excellent. Sometimes quantity is trumped by quality.

Good Morning. A 5:30 AM start. I did not use the ab stimulator, I just did not want to take the time. I will tonight.

Here we go:

Incline Press 1x12, 1x10, 1x6 (2 green, 4 orange shock rings)
Dorsi Bar Pulldown 3x12 (Blue + Orang e+ Red shock rings)
Shoulder Press 2x10, 1x13 (Green shock rings)
Standing Curl 3x9 (4 Orange + 2 Red shock rings)
Squats 2X9, 1x10 (Green + Orange + Red shock rings)
Neck +10 lbs. 3x12

Total Time 28:00 minutes (about)

I got irritated doing the shoulder press and upped my last set to 13 reps. Sometimes mad works. I added resistance to the curls and pulldowns. History repeats, I seem to make better progress on the pulling exercises than the press. An odd phenomena I guess.

I kept the sets tight; by my last set of squats I was sucking wind. I do not do a race, but the timed structure helps me stay focused. My daughter is back in the will. I believe I mentioned sometime ago she commented my arms had become small. She was out of the will. The other days she noticed they were bigger. She made a positive comment. So, I think she is angling for my English sports car.

What I think really pushed me, to push me, was noticing two years after my month of Corona, and then last year another week, I had no fore arm musculature. I had atrophied that much. But, my midsection had become a Voit volleyball. Arms are bigger, my waist is reducing. Still.

Sounds like good progress being made. Definitely a good way to get kicked out of the will by mentioning your arms are looking smaller. :laughing:

I have five girls. I have not been sure I was a good dad when they were young. I am trying to make up for that. But I do know when people disrespect their father, they dig in and protect their pop.

Yes. Early. I had a cramp in my calf at about 2:30-3:00 AM. After I worked it out.

Not much more , I did not add curls to total reps.
