You tried dips with those rings yet? Add an entirely different dimension to it.
It can be very humbling, just giving you a fair warning. I know every time I do them I am left shaking my head in disgust, wondering what the eff is wrong with me… I need to do them a whole lot more I guess :p
Agreed, weighted dips are even worse because you have to stabilize the weight from swinging while keeping your body stabile on the rings.

Love the diving essay. A brief escape from the cold.
What’re fatman pullups?
I know a few people here have tried them in the smith machine. Can’t seem to find a vid but basically my knees are bent 90 degrees or so, my feet are flat on the floor, my back is horizontal with the ground, my arms are straight up grabbing the rings and I’m pulling my upper body up between the rings…
making sense? good shoulder, back and arm movement.
Snap - Kacey (owner/trainer) has a good contact and will be setting me up with a singlet wrist and knee straps. Hopefully sooner than later.
As for the federation it’s the QPF (quebec) / CPU (canadian), I don’t recall which fed O lifted with. I’ll drop by her log to see if she has any comments for me. AT this point I’m not going to be picky. It’s my first run and hosted at my gym, why not?
Brute -PL gym has some cool toys - rings, kettle bells, sleds and tires. And the attitude is close to my heart.
Print - Killer Queen, love it. Maybe the title of my next log?

I didn’t mention it but I did smoke 3 packs during my vacation. Left my last packed there, haven’t smoked since. Bad vacation habit, I know. Did I number on my diving abilities by the end of the week too. Maybe the diving is the push I need to get rid of my vacation crutch
Forgot to mention that we are having my b-day supper tonight since I was traveling on the 25th. My bro planned a nice suprise supper for me. I love suprises
good food and good company. ain’t nothin that can keep me down.
I answered in my log but I’ll answer here as well. I lift CPU. There aren’t a ton of feds in Canada because we don’t have the population. There’s also the CPO which is multi ply and raw. CPU has more meets which is why I lift there. I don’t think the CPO has enough people to support a ton of meets yet.
Anyway, all to say I lift CPU. I met Kacey at Nationals in Moosejaw a couple of years ago and have been following her progress. She’s a really good lifter and a kick ass deadlifter. I was watching a video of her recently. I aim to catch up at some point
I’m sure she’ll be able to give you guidance. Do you have your CPU card yet? You will need that to compete. You can contact Louis at llevesque@powerlifting.ca to get the form to send in. FYI, he’s also the local Titan dealer so if you need a singlet, socks, wrist/knee wraps, he’s the guy to talk to.

Oh you mean on the cigs?
Actually, I just had a cig (or three) last night! But in my defense I was also drinking. giggle
Its vacation Frenchie! You’re supposed to do things that are out of the ordinary - so I see no wrong. Especially since you left the cigarettes back in Cozumel like a forlorn lover. Adieu mon petite! Adieu!
Kimba - yup, a good spankin won’t keep me away from anything, especially from your hands woman lol
Birthday supper was pretty cool. My brother picked out a really neat russian place I hadn’t tried yet wher I had some wonderful vodka and ukranian dumblings. nom.
