Anyway, who cares, you lifted it and in the meantime attracted the attention of people in the biz.
I was told by the gym manager last night that someone was giving a similar class this morning as they were encouraging me to give so I decided that today was fasted cardio day. Grabbed some coffee and headed to the gym. Watched the class for the first 10 minutes and something in my heart died a little. They crammed around 30 people in a small room. The teacher is in front showing the movement and NO ONE is walking the class correcting form. Basically she runs them through a series of complexes (ugh!) with light weights and bad form. 1/4 of the class can do most of it but the horror that insued during the squatting…no bueno. Is it better than nothing? probably. Am I willing to do it. Nope. So we’ll just leave that offer on the table.
So with this in mind I headed towards my treadmill.
2 mins at 3mph
3 mins at 3.5 mph
35 mins at 4 mph
10 mins at 4mph with 5% incline
10 mins at 5-6 mph
5 mins at 2.5mph
this gave me a total of 65 minutes and 4 miles. According to the treadmill I burned 475 cals but I’ll take that with a grain of salt.
Down to 154 this AM.
Had a banana, 1/2 cup of oats, 2 scoops of choco pp and some blueberries.
I also wanted to mention that the city has built some facilities right next to my building. We’ve been itching to see it since last summer. It was open house today so I stopped by on my way back from the gym. Big dissapointment. Althought they are offereing lifting classes the gym is the size of a closet filled with machines and a few dumbells. They have a nice gymnasium for team sports which will be good for the kids but not really for me. The other thing was the pool which is beautiful and all filled with windows and light. Bad thing is they decided to offer it for free which means the whole city can come over, no one will be swimming laps, basically people will be bathing in chlorine. Ah well. I’ll stick to my old gym for now.

Mim- yup, thats what it was, althought thats NOT how it was presented to me.
I hope those poor folks are aware that they will not look like the spokespeople just cause they are doing 1/4 squats with 15lbs once a week.

Frenchie: Congrats on your bw–done while sick and dieting–bench! Holy shit. And wow what a beautiful back you have. Sorry the teaching gig isn’t what you were expecting…sharing your passion for something can be quite rewarding. Maybe another opportunity will present.
Nikkie - my issue with cardio is that I need a carrot and I personally do not care to run faster or longer. I do care how my tummy overhangs in the bikini. Hence I run. Once the bikini is boxed for another year there will be no incentive. I do plan to keep the occasional 30 mins or HIIT just for the conditioning but I’m better at saying that than doing it.
So far 5lbs since January 3rd. I’m hoping to kick it for another few this week. Its not much but I do feel tighter- a little more definition. I plan to compare bikini pics from last April to see if the 9 month bulk made a difference.
Nadia- Thank you, and I’m not all hung up about the teaching - if I were to teach it would be taking the time with proper form. For that I would need some classes and such.
As for the bench - if only my squat would keep up…

Me too. Not sure why you would bruise. Unless you were in a bench shirt, of course.
A raw bodyweight bench is simply awesome. That would make me high for about 2.3 months.

near the braw straps where the shoulders really dig into the bench. I assumed it was the mix of brastrap and heavy weight pressing down. Could be wrong.

beastysnap- i saw the bruises in the mirror and consulted pegg, bc sometimes i bruise “late,” after i’ve forgotten that i ran into something or that something happened.
he suggested (and it made sense to me) that i’d held my bodyweight over my chest, and consequently, my back, while i was on the bench, with my back squeezed together.
so if it doesnt happen with everyone, i’ll take the credit as freak. but i’m claiming the frenchy with me.
