Frank Rich: Teaparty = Racists

I think one of the confusions in this thread (pay attention Schlenkatank) was that Rich was referring to a specific (and imaginary) incident throughout his piece that’s been repeated by various factions of the press so many times it has taken on the mantle of truth - even though it’s completely false.

Here is the specific incident:

And on Youtube anyone can see for themselves all the various videos of the “incident” - no one shouted any racist remark (n*gger) to John Lewis or anyone else; and no one spat on them.

By the way, there is a pending $10,000 reward for anyone who can prove to the contrary.

Does that represent a majority?

(I have commented in the past that a “vocal minority” can often “hi-jack” a movement).

Again, I’ll go back to my preivious ideas about this. Ron paul recieved 3 million dollars in the republican primary in one day, and then 5 million a month later in one day. he recieved 20 million throughout his campaign from grassroots supporters. There were people who were fed up with the Democrats obviously, but if that was all, they would have gone over to McCain or Romney, or Rudi, Or huckabee, there were certainly many choices one could go with to go against the liberals. Instead they went with a little old man from Texas. They gave him thier money and they gave him a LOT of money. The movement was so new, people were trying anything to get the message out, I think you will remember the Ron Paul Blimp. And how about the real first tea party, at least of this movement, which took place all across the country.

Also I have a correction, the primaries and the revolution began in 07, not 08, The election was in 08.

Watch this video, these people have not gone away, and while some of them have started to call themselves the tea party, the vast vast majority of these people are the same ones who donated to Paul and supported the cause. Smaller government, doesn’t matter if it’s republican, democrat, green, libertarian.

I really wish that people would forget about Ron Paul. He’s reached the highest office he’s ever going to obtain. He looks like a tired cranky old man. Keep in mind I’m not saying he doesn’t have some good ideas. But here’s the thing about ideas, you actually have to get elected in order to implement them.

And as I’ve said repeatedly in the past, Ron Paul is NOT electable. So where do we go from here? Should we push the old man into running again and ensure Obama’s reelection? I mean when does this craziness end? At what point do we all accept the fact that we live in a media/Internet driven age and people who look like Obama tend to win races and people who look like McCain and Ron Paul tend to LOSE.

No really, this stuff is not rocket science.

LOL! She is such an idiot.

Her husband sits on the Board of Trustees for one of the big banks, and she lobbied to make sure that his bank got a bailout.

Woa Woa Woa there captain. I did not say anything about wanting Ron Paul to run in the next election. But there is no way I can “forget” about the man who opened up my eyes. He is the modern father of this movement weather you like it or not. I was merely showing Mufasa that this tea party movement did not start when Obama became president, it started in 07 after 7 years of Bush/Cheany.

Thanks for the insights, V.

I think that the Movements first big “test” may come in the fall.

(Again…will they back Libertarian/Independent candidates with the same vision…or merely become a wing of the Republican Party).

It’s going to be interesting to follow.

Yea, I know but continually showing Ron Paul and talking about how he raised 20 million dollars is still a promotion of the man as a candidate. We need new and younger blood to beat Obamawitz.

Anyway, if you do that again it’s going to be me and you on the mat, no wait, you train mma, don’t you? Forget it.

Take care pal,

Zeb

A new USA Today poll: 28% of all voters said they can identify with the Tea Party movement. A full 50% said that he should not run again. That is very, very bad news for the President.

So YOU believe that African tribesman are somehow of less value or less dignified than a white man in a suit? I would think most leftist should be thrilled to see the maligned perpetually underestimated noble African celebrated by a comparison to the American messiah. He himself in turn, far from offense should take pride in the comparison as well.

You’re the one denigrating bone nosed spear chuckers you bigot.
My argument is that racism is subjective. However I’m sure many African Americans possibly including our president would find being compared to an African tribesman as racist. I believe the term spear chucker is usually accepted as racist yes?
If that word is racist, and you just typed it, are you not then racist, regardless of the context you used the word?
I knew he wouldn’t get it. I wonder how long he stared at it with a perplexed look on his face before exclaiming: Und jahst vaht een zee hell dahs he mean by zaht =]

I agree Mufasa. This will be interesting to watch. I have actually been to my local Tea Party website, and I am thinking of getting involved to see more what this is all about. I am actually thinking of helping a candidate to call voters. I have never gotten involved, but I am really starting to get angry.
