I just don’t really understand why a whole site for figure competitors (and the women who want to look like one). That really doesn’t sound like a welcoming place to me. To me it sounds like a place that was designed by a man who thinks that the goal of all women is to be oogled.

I did really liked it before they consolidated the threads though.

“Figure” is by far the fastest growing segment of the entire weight-training market. Nothing else comes close.

If it doesn’t appeal to you, that’s fine. You’re more than welcome to continue to “live” on T-Nation.

We’ll continue to have plenty of information that appeals to your interests.

So, my original question was, before I was sidetracked was:

Sounds like a yes to me.

Really, where else would I “live”?

I’ll give it a chance anyway, and if it sucks, I’ll go away.

And the women who say we’ve given them the “basement”? In my mind, we’ve given you a Penthouse and we’re in the process of adding on a huge kitchen (literally) with a live-in chef. (You’ll see.)

Yes, I was hugely jealous about the chef…

That just might be the best thread on the internet.

We’re doing stuff slowly, though, so as to not cause people to experience anxiety.

How’s that working out for ya… :)
ROFLMAO!!!

A couple things.

As I believe they are, T-Nation should be gratified that people have such strong opinions on these types of things because it demonstrates how near and dear to them the site has become.

Also, there appears to be a bit of hysteria going on here, especially from the girls. I don’t know why the changes can’t be given like 15 minutes chance before the cacophonous chorus of condemnation.

These poor guys must feel like battered parents by now. Besides what’s really important is that my beloved Red Wings win game three tonight =] Jist kiddin… kinda

I remember TC saying he’s splitting it off this site.

Yes, MWA is its own site now.

Says someone that has been here all of one month.

Trust me - it’s a dynamic you can’t understand what with all of your 30 days as a member here.

physique % performance photos is now rate my physique…

that should make for some interesting threads…

Hey, just 'cause someone’s e-mouth isn’t as big as ours doesn’t mean he hasn’t been following the site for years.

I lurked for a while before signing up, then never shut up since.

“Why is there no number less than 0?”

HAHAHA! No vote = 0, FWIW.

Want to hear something freaky? We signed TWO Figure competitors to contracts. Another one or two participate on the site for supplements.

The rest just found the site.

We haven’t even advertised.
If that is true, that is impressive and a testament to the quality of knowledge and goods on here.

To clarify my point, I don’t see anything wrong with Biotest trying to “corner the market” on figure competitors and supplements for women. They seem like a reputable and ethical company, certainly more so than others. It just seemed to me like the move was done in order to be able to sell new products more effectively. As pointed out earlier, it’s a lot easier to sell supplements for women on a site that is marketed specifically for women.

Either way, I’m kind of terrified to venture into the “rate my physique” forum. I’m expecting some 150# 16-year olds with blowbacks and holding shoes.

Just think of the hours of entertainment this will provide!!

However, if she’s a figure competitor or relates more strongly to figure competitors, she now has a place that’s dedicated exclusively to her needs.

Why wasn’t it presented that way from the beginning? First it was the trolls, then it was the way that the author were treated, now it’s all about giving the figure competitors their own special little place to congregate.

I stand by my statement that you should have just come out in the beginning and said that was the deal.

The MWA site, or what we did yesterday with the forums, has nothing–I repeat, nothing–to do with the issues I brought up in my Atomic Dog (the infamous inflammatory one) or the audio that followed.

We’ve yet to figure out a course of action regarding those issues.

You know, maybe I’m the true butthead here, because I can’t figure out what the anger is all about.

So, I ask you again, my taxtime beleagured friend, be patient and have some faith.

Truth in that. People fight about the things that they feel a passion for. While the Biotest folk may be feeling a bit battered by the feedback, if nothing else it’s proof that people have come to really invest in this community they’ve created.

I think it’s more the way they were introduced than anything else. While that banner in the middle may be awfully big and colourful, it also blends in with the standard advertising that’s taken up that spot for some time now.

Plus people tend to search based on expectation, and folks expect the links to be either at the top of the page, or in the forums list to the left of the posts. Additionally, you don’t see it if you just click on an e-mail notification link dealing with a thread you’re participating in. So I’d hazzard to guess that most people just looked right past that link.

People like to feel included. Part of the community has been split off. For good reason perhaps, but the split remains. The initial confusion just fostered the “wtf?” sentiment rather than the “cool new toy!” sentiment.

I must hate you now.

Of course, if Calgary doesn’t get off their asses and actually skate for the puck, you’re likely to get your wish.

That’s right. I forgot Laurie was a wingnut. I think I’ll start an NHL playoff thread, but I have a feeling there aren’t that many fans here.

Well the banner has been there for weeks and we were not required to use it as a link. I know I for one did not even think to click on it looking for the sorority…

And yeah I also think it is more of a “WTF” as well…I am sure that when all is said and done we will adjust – but I still don’t like it right now.
