Fortune Favors the Bold

Feel like hell. I have coughed until my chest hurts, all the way around. I am sure this is a gift from my 4 year old…1st year in school.
I just wish that it would go away. And soon… The only thing worse than just being sick is being sick at Christmas.

I fear that your sickness will cause another rash of PR’s…god help us all… Get well fast, cause Santa is bringing you a new super duper weight stack for rows!!

Sorry that you’re ill.

You’ve got to get well soon because there’s only 10 more lifting days 'til Christmas!

No PRs here, OG…yet.
Lol…thanks for reminding me, Brett. I better get my ass in gear!

Back deload -

Seated Rows - close neutral
100x15
160x15x3

Seated Rows - wide neutral
160x15x3

Lat Pulls - wide neutral
160x12x3

That’s all folks. Hoping to feel better soon.

Looks like your ass in in gear. Nice under the weather training you have going on there, Skip

Thanks, Wilson. It is moving. It would really be nice to get over this shit, though. I am tired of sinus headaches, coughing and feeling tired. This has been dragging on for several weeks now, just at varying degrees of severity. It’s the 1st time, in a long while, that I can remember it getting down into my lungs.

Military Day -

Got started way late and only managed to get the millies in.

Military Press
barx20
95x10
135x8
170x3
205x3
230x2
250x4
265x1

Not sure what to think about this workout. The 250x4 matched my PR from a few weeks back. The weight, however, felt heavier than I would have liked. I am not sure if it is…

  1. I need more deload
  2. My illness has my body worn down
    or
  3. A combination of the two

Since further deloading is not palatable, I guess I am going to have to hope for #2.

Going to take some drugs…sick of coughing.

Hey !!! I asked nicely, to slow down on the Millies !!!..GOD I swear !!!

I have slowed down. I made zero forward movement. Right now, I am fighting not to go backwards.

Oh…and thank God it is Friday. I am so done.

I have even more respect for your strict 250 x 4 after busting a gut struggling to “push” press 230!

Decided to deload today. Just not feeling it.

Bench

330x2

Oh, U soooo fuuuuuunnneh!!

Great work in here, LS!

Thanks, Steely. But I did stop there. Maybe I should start calling the “Skip deloads”.
Thanks, Jack.

Disappointing Bench Day - Sunday…

My intention was to ignore the fact that I am STILL sick, and see if a new PR was in the cards. Turns out that it was…but I fucked it up.

Bench
barx20x2
95x10
135x8
185x5
225x3
265x2
300x2
330x2
350x1
365x1 - Went up smooth and strong. 380# would have gone on this rep.
375x0 - Blew it! The bar started down and it was WAY too shallow (towards my head). I had the strength to completely stop the bar, mid stroke, and force it down towards my sternum. By then, though, I had burned energy and completely screwed any groove. Hit my chest, went up about 3-4" and dumped.

Face Pulls
110x10x3

Sonofabitch! I had every bit of 375# in me, if not 380#, but I couldn’t make the rubber hit the road. I am gonna feel out my millies, on Thursday, and hope that I can salvage some Christmas cheer from that.

You, sir, are closing in on 4 wheels. Nice work in here, even if you missed the groove on your top set. I predict a very merry Christmas and happy new year.

Jack - 4 wheels is a loooong way off, even though I can see it.

Back blowout…almost

Wanted to see what I could actually get to my body, in a seated row-like movement.

Seated Rows - close neutral
100x15
160x12
210x10
255x8
300x5x3
350x2
400x1(.9)x2 - PR +25#

Seated Rows - wide neutral
255x10x3

Lat Pulls - wide neutral
160x12x3

Done. The reps at 400# were uuuuugly. Since my goal was to simply get the weight to my gut, however, they were successful. Funny thing is, I say that it was 400#…and that is the accurate count of the weight, but I can’t imagine that it isn’t more. With all of that weight pulling the stack to the rear, it must create some degree of drag, against the guide posts. I just have no way of knowing how much.

That was stout!

Thanks, Soldog. It was also all back. But, since I wasn’t going for a proper seated row, and only wondering what I could beg, borrow or steal, to my gut, it worked.

One word…WOW!

Thats just one crazy row Strick. Did you count the set up as cardio?

Nice Bench/Rows, man.

It just cracks me up that you add all that weight to the stack.
