The one with glasses is my youngest. He is a boiled peanut eating machine. Does his Daddy proud.
Not to be left out… This is my snaggletoothed, Autie boy (translated: too much like his Daddy). He is a piece of work and my mini-me. Unfortunately, he is not a fan of boiled peanuts (sensory thing). But we let it slide.
Thanks for sharing the pics. It’s always fun to see a slice of everyone’s “real” life.
HAHAHA I love the “boilt peanut” party! Great job with the lifting Skip!
Yeah baby!

Thanks, snap. I like getting a look into other folks lives as well. Mainly because our view/opinion of folks is limited to the very narrow world we interact with them in. It is always interesting to see a fuller/broader view of people.

Back -
Another day where I didn’t feel overly motivated going in but got in the groove once the lifting started. Lat pulls felt pretty good today. Seated rows felt okay, as well. I am still avoiding curls and direct tricep work, but the elbow is definitely doing better.
Also, the last set of seated rows was awesome. It was one of those sets where it starts going and you kind of slip into the zone…grunting with every rep and when it gets tough, you just stop thinking and do it…just because, as though you somehow can’t allow yourself to stop.
BW squatsx15x2 - to loosen my still sore legs
Lat Pulls
100x15
160x12
210x12 - PR +2 Reps
255x5 - PR +10#
255x4
210x12
210x10
Seated Rows
210x10
255x10
300x5
325x5 - PR +25# - not strict reps but definitely not wild ones either
255x20 - PR +8 Reps - Awesome! Attacked it. Felt like a berserker. Last 5 reps had a lot of back in them.
Rack Pulls - still going light to try to work back into it
225x10x3
That be it.
Pic is what I have to do to get 325# on the machine.
Great pics, Skip, and great work in here. You have a great looking family.
Thanks Jack. They’re a great crew. And the workouts are moving along.
Thats a big family Strick. I remember my how my Grandpa could eat boiled peanuts all day long. Looks like you almost had enough for a family football game.
I love how you’ve got those plates attached to the stack.
Joe, they are good kids. The dark haired boy and girl are going through a time. They and their Mom were evicted from there rental, a couple of weeks back. (Long story, and she made some poor choices, but she is busting her hump to get out of the fix.)
In any case, we have them come over on the weekend, for a cookout, and the kids will stay the night. My youngest absolutely loves her son.
The peanuts were just an added bonus. I got them to try them and that was all she wrote.
I have fond memories of sitting on the front porch of my grandparents house on the river and knocking down pounds of boiled peanuts with my Grandpa (Big Strick). Might be why I am so fat now! ![]()
Shit…your back is super strong. 325 seated rows? Wow.
Thats some damn good engineering you have going on there, Skip. Helluva set of PR’s. If we didnt have all this rain, they would have been digging peanuts here this week. I’m going across the street to the warehouse and get me about 50 lbs to boil in your honor!
Thanks, Scott. This was the 1st real jump in lat pulls that I had noticed. On the 210x12, I could have gotten 15, but was holding back for the next set. It was nice for 210# not to feel like a ton.
The seated rows have always been pretty good, but I am trying to push the weight up. It is just such a pain to load the extra plates on the machine. Hanging onto the chain, with 165# on it just hurts.
Wilson, that sounds like an outstanding plan! And I am honored! Unfortunately, I can’t buy green peanuts here. Something about the health code. The ones I have I brought back from GA…and they are about half gone already. It is going to be a sad day at my house when they are gone.
So it turns out that Little Strick is nothing but a Giant Teddy Bear! Awesome stuff with the kids!! And no, you cannot hide on pg. 2…
What kind of communists won’t let you have green peanuts?

It’s pretty much always good to have a broader view of peoples lives. We don’t realise how narrow our own lives really are until we look at other peoples.
Congrats on the PR’s!!! I guess you got cruise control turned off.
Where you been, old man? work kicking your butt?
Good work with getting back to the squats. I don’t even understand the other lifting stuff. Maybe this is sacrilegious, but until reading in your thread, I never even heard of boiled peanuts. I guess I’m really missing out on something.
