I’m on somewhat of a cut cycle where ive decided to keep my diet the same and increase cardio each week. The only problem ive had as of the last week or so is finals have hit and 4-5 times last week, I’ve had the same problem. I’ll go to take a nap and end up sleeping the entire night forgeting a substanial amount of calories.
Now, I’m not missing these calories, I’ll eat them first thing when I wake up.
My question is, I understand this is not perferable, but how bad do you think this towards a goal of minimizing muscle loss during the cut?
Your training is what will determine how much muscle mass you maintain while in a caloric deficit. CT just said in one of the Clinic logs something like, ‘the only way to maintain muscle mass while dieting is to get stronger. IF you are getting stronger there is no way you are losing muscle.’ (paraphrased poorly i’m sure)
Use an alarm clock when you take a nap.
I do use an alarm clock, ive just been sleeping right through it. its uncanny really.
thanks for the response, I didn’t know that was the case.
dont wory about it too much anyway, finals are like 2 weeks, even if you lost muscle from it it you would probably get it back in a week
You probably needed the rest more than the food anyway. You probably did what your body needed most.
