Yep. I count steaks as a protein and a healthy fat (unless you’re deep-frying it. lol) I actually had one for lunch (grilled on the George Foreman) in addition to a huge plate of veggie and bean mix and some pistachios.

Re: cuties - bearing in mind I am English, do you mean tangerines (or satsumas or clementines which are pretty similar) or small tangerine-coloured things of an indeterminable nature? You have a lot of things over there that we don’t have here.
Been working on a paper all night, and it’s taking longer than anticipated, so no workout or anything good really. Today sucked near the end. I hate writing based on what you know someone wants to hear. It takes me 4x longer than anything else. I’d much rather play with equations.

Hang in there! Maybe plan a little fun over the weekend. Though it’s hella lame, I pre-made all my meals on Sunday and Wednesday the entire senior year of college and wound up pretty lean on little time because I completely eliminated the guess factor and cooking temptations. Maybe get some Tupperware and package up meals once a week for super busy days. Also, gold star to you and your boyfriend for prioritizing school over vday.

nlmain- It was an all around mistake on everyone’s part; they’re good guys (and I’m a pretty harsh judge). Basically, they didn’t realize their bullets were skipping like on water when they were hitting the dirt, and therefore flying into areas they didn’t realize were possible. IMO, it was 75% bad luck on his part and 25% not knowing enough about setting up his own shooting range. Also, no one realized that the field was owned by the college, not the government.

I see college as a weeding process; those who survive and do well “deserve” bigger paychecks. It’s all about society figuring out how to pay people differently. It used to be based on performance in the workplace, but apparently that got too complicated. So now, if you can make it through the drudgeries of public higher education, they’ll hire you over someone with no education and more experience. It’s fucked up, but I didn’t make the rules. And it is better than the old system of birthright.

I do get Monday off and also, I just realized in looking up the school schedule that today is the last day to turn in the FAFSA. So, thanks to luck, I got it within in the priority deadline.

Breakfast: huge bowl of left-over spagetti sauce (mostly beef with tomato sauce), apple, nuts, fish oil

Oh yeah, and I’ve started an account at www.luminosity.com , which is a website that provides exercises which have apparently been proven to significantly increase participant’s performance in studies regarding the areas the tests are supposed to address. My Dad started doing these little games about a year ago because he has brain damage from 20 years of severe sleep apne, and he wanted some way of knowing which days his brain was working, and which it wasn’t. This allowed him to assess whether or not his breathing machine was working right. I’m interested in it because I’d heard that you can improve brain cell growth as an adult through exercises like this. But I’m also interested in seeing how I compare day to day on these tests given sleep, diet, exercise, stressors, whatever.
So I’m going to record my scores here so I can match them to the other variables.
