For Those in High School, Diet Plans?

fiirst
How do you balance school hw, gym, and regular school hours? Because I want to get back working o9ut but im awful at getting hw done with enough time to actually get to the gym. But whats your schedule? and how do you do it?

as for the diet plan I AM SERIOUS. There will be NO CHEATING, OR SLACKING. I want to get rid of fat.

Im a senior and graduate in 5-6 months. I am VERY good at baseball. But when i had my foot surgery and went back to school everything changed. Now my foot is better but I have to play for a private league. Im a 5th yrer. it just means iv been in hs for 5 years. m not going to go into it but let me say that. 1 it was not my fault. 2 no one saw it coming. and 3 life just isnt fair.

Im 6’2" 280. I need to get rid of this FAT. I want to be 200 pounds in 6 months. Can that happen? I want to play baseball for a city college for 2 years and then transfer into a university. I really want to play for university of Florida or university of miami. But that is just my ideal places to play.

any plans for fat burning that may suit me?

and i will have a gym membership. but lately my knees have been hurting me, im almost pisitive it from the weight.

Thank God for Proposition 48. You might just have a chance…

I’m not currently in high school, but I began really lifting in my junior year. I’ll presume that your in school Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm (ballpark figure, ha, no pun intended).

Let’s also say you need three hours every night for homework (that’s hopefully an overestimation), and let’s give a full hour to family-time dinner each night (have dinner with your folks. They’ll appreciate it.) That’s four hours of “stuff” to do once you’re out of school.

If possible, head straight to the gym right from school. That’ll help get it out of the way so nothing comes up. If Charlie says, “Hey CerealKiller, after school swing by my house for a marathon Rock Band session. You can be lead guitar.” Tough. You’ve got an appointment at the gym.

If Suzie says, “Hey CerealKiller, after school swing by my house to see my cheerleader routine. My parents are out of town.” Then you can skip the gym, because, dude, she’s a high school cheerleader.

I’d want you in the gym no more than three hours a week for now. A 30-40 minute full-body workout plus 10-15 minutes of cardio afterwards, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Bingo, bango. Saturday or Sunday you could do a 15-20 minute cardio workout at home.

When I first started, the gym I belonged to was open until 10 or 11 at night during the week. I’d get there around 8 or 9, after dinner. It wasn’t “ideal”, but it had to be done. On the plus side, it was never really crowded so I could do what I want without waiting, and I didn’t feel like the awkward newbie.

Nutrition-wise, Dan John has some ridiculously simple starting points:

  1. Eat breakfast

  2. Eat three meals a day, at least

  3. Eat protein at every meal

  4. Consume fiber at every meal

  5. Take your fish oil capsules

Other common sense-ish stuff (like avoiding junk food and soda, not having a ton of calories or carbs right before bed, etc.) is also great advice, but absolutely implement these five immediately.

No offense, but are you a catcher? I can’t imagine being that size and being “VERY good” at baseball.

Surgery for what? Is it fully rehabbed? Do you have the doctor’s okay to be exercising?

Sure it can happen, but it won’t be safe or healthy, and you’ll lose muscle which will further screw up your baseball performance. So, for all intents and purposes, let’s go with no, it actually can’t happen.

I’d bet it is. Lose weight and you’ll lose the pain (unless you’ve caused further damage).

This me

0700 Wake Up - Eat banana + some water
0730 Gym (travel + workout + wash)
0900 Eat + Read notes/lecture + Library
1300 Eat
1400 Work
1800 Eat
1710 Work
2100 Condition complex - Eat + Make food for tomorrow
2230 Sleep + Read a book

If I can do it so can you.

I’m in high school, and I get off school at 12:30 every day, so I just go to the gym then, because it is less crowded. I’m guessing you get out around 2:30, so just go after school, and you should be done in about an hour (depending on what you do)
80 pounds in 6 months in a little more than 13 pounds a month, so the answer is probably no.
And it wouldn’t be healthy anyways.

My best advice would be to pick a diet and training program and stick to it. Read, read and read some more there’s a ton of info on this site and you need to find something that’ll work for you, and that you can stick to. If you any specific questions feel free to ask or PM.

my foot is fine now. But when i was playing ball i was 230. But due to me being in a cast for 4 months+cruthes and rehab I gained a lot of weight. It was for bunion surgery. I have the full ok from the doc.

I graduated last year and I made training a huge priority. It was pretty tough because I lived in Brooklyn and when to school in Manhattan, so my commute was about an hour on the subway. Still, I managed to train for an hour and half 3 times a week, get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, spend an hour with my family, and have 3 or 4 hours to do homework/do nothing. This is basically how I saw my day (my times in parenthesis):

Breakfast before leaving for school. (7:00)

A snack (include a protein shake) sometime between classes before lunch (10:15)

Lunch at school (1:00)

Training right after school (3:30)

Post-workout shake right after you’re done (5:00)

Dinner when you get home (6)

Homework until bed (6:30-10) and a meal about 3 hours after dinner (9).

Prepare your protein shakes and snacks on Sunday, light homework days, and before you leave for school in the morning.

It’s sometimes tough to balance school and training and social stuff, but that’s life. Figure out your priorities and don’t be lazy.

Find a training and diet program and be consistent. It’s possible to get results in high school, you just have to sacrifice a lot of fuck-around-doing-nothing time. It’s also a good idea to not drink (too much), smoke, or stay out ridiculously late on weekends.
