If he’s on roids so what? What’s your point? Many athletes are using “something”. To think other wise is naive. The way he was eating, 20-30 lbs over 4 years is easily doable with out help. Did you actually watch the whole video? Eating about that much every day and training correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised he gained that amount of mass in a few years. You figure that’s all he does is just train, sleep and eat like he mentioned.
okay after watching that video I can’t see how he could be on steroids. 30lbs in 4 years is slow gains. I’m at around 3.5 years and have gained almost 85lbs, and don’t have a gut. This guy power eats. If he was on steroids he would be way the fuck bigger.

Eat with purpose and train possesed and you will grow.
PS: I think Alistair probably juices. Think about the kind of training this guys does… he must go through an ungodly amount of calories training/recovering from all that. Also, he is not a bodybuilder and would not use steroids the same way as one, OTHER THAN in his move to HW.

Over 4 years he gained 20-30lbs? That’s only 5lbs a year, or slightly more. If he needed steroids to achieve that, then I pity him.
This does not mean he gained the weight over a course of 4 years. It was 4 years ago; he’s been fighting at HW for a while. It’s not like he didn’t fight for 4 years and just sat around eating.

You fuckers really think like this?
Does it really shock some of you that a grown man could gain 20-30lbs of muscle in ONE YEAR?
If it does, you suck at this.
Whether the man actually used anything IS FUCKING IRRELEVANT. Those gains are not even “above average” for a serious weight trainer who eats and trains like he does.
What is with so many of you trying this hard to ignore the point of this thread AS WELL AS turn his progress into a negative?
i hav so many shrimp friends that all dick-ride the term “hardgainer” every time they’re asked about their size. Its an easy way out. I have trouble gaining weight (i do force feed myself many meals) but, i also know that this is not because I’m a hardgainer, but because i simply don’t have the money as a student to eat a ton of quality food every two hours. If you ask a “hardgainer” what they ate that day, they’ll go on forever, but if you look at their diet week after week, its never even close to consistent. To get big you gotta eat big CONSISTENTLY to see real gains.
Yeah, he can gain 5 lbs per year. Hell, I have gained 5 lbs in less than a month during wrestling season, and I burn through calories during wrestling season more than Prof. X burns through steak.

Question…do you think the rest of us who got big DIDN’T have to force feed ourselves to make it happen?
When I was a broke college student, I ate what I could afford. I would rather gain a little extra body fat than make little to no progress by trying to only eat like a competing bodybuilder when I can’t afford it.
Some of you act like you would rather make no gains and turn down that hamburger. Anyone who would do that clearly doesn’t want to get big badly enough.
McDonald’s 99cent menu got me through many nights in college. Is it ideal? of course not…but why waste all of those years of growth because you were so picky you tried to eat like someone who could afford 300 bucks worth of a food every two weeks when you couldn’t?
Eat as well as you can and meet the calorie requirement for the rest if you want this.

The point of the post was “Look at how big this guy is. Look at how much he eats; particularly the amount of meat.” This correlation holds whether you’re taking steroids or not. Gah. Diet’s probably even more important when you’re not on steroids!
Please don’t post shit like this. It has nothing to do with the point of this thread.
The poster above me brought his MMA and roid controversy up so I posted on it. Regardless of how he eats, he is the example being held up in the thread and his likely roid use is relevant.
If you don’t like it feel free to shut the fuck up and skim over my posts in future.

Maybe i shouldn’t have used the word “quality” when describing the foods I eat. I eat cheeseburgers and fries daily. I just ate dinner and had a bowl of peanut butter and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Maybe if McDonalds wasn’t a bus ride away that would be an option. I count my cals. and I do my best to get red meat and fats too. If I am torn between two foods, I pick the most calorie dense hands down. I respect your knowledge but you make these giant generalizations based on a response 3 sentences long. You think I give a fuck about seeing lines on my stomach compared to gaining mass? I was just trying to relate to some others that probably feel the same way about being consistent.

I’m in the same situation (broke uni student) and the only reason I don’t stuff tons of inexpensive shit food down my throat (like McDs) is because I value my health more than I do my size. To each his own. But if someone is truly trying to get big and aren’t afraid of sacrificing a bit of their health then go for it and don’t make excuses for yourself.
As for me, I’ve invested a little bit of extra time to preparing healthier (but still cheap) meals that are calorically dense. My nut-bars will rock your socks and my chilli is pretty good too. Both are relatively inexpensive to make and keep me healthy… all they require is extra prep every week.

Burger Kings new and improved, bigger and better than McDonalds, double cheeseburgers are a fucking godsend. Oh and they put mustard on theirs, ya take that golden arches, you fucks need to step up your game, Wendy’s and BK got this on lockdown(gotta throw out a junior bacon cheeseburger mention).
I got done my training tonight around 7pm. I came home had a shake, took a shower, and at 8-ish, I cooked myself 4 eggs and 4 egg whites (having already eaten 8 eggs for b’fast, a bunch of shakes, a couple potatoes, and almost 2 lbs of meat.
Here it is 9:20 and I still have about 1/4 of a plate of cold eggs and my belly feels full and I’m disgusted at the thought of food, but you know what? They’re goin’ down.
In fact, I’m just going to down them after I hit “Submit” because I’m sick of looking at them.

You say to each his own, but then you make the implicit statement that you can’t maintain a healthy body while eating McDonalds. Dude, most people on here who mention fast food are going to be referring only to the meatiest sandwiches available at a given restaurant anyway. No one said order the meals, just get the double cheeseburgers.
A lot of people can handle a few stops to McD’s a week, as long as they are active and make an effort in the gym. How many stops are okay depends on how healthy your lifestyle is otherwise, and it shouldn’t be that hard for someone to tell. You can go to McDonald’s and eat double cheeseburgers and still be a healthy guy.

Yea eggs is one thing I get a lot of. For breakfast I can get as many hard boiled eggs as i can eat (though none after 11AM). I try to eat as many whites as i can. Do you think I should eat the whole egg? Wow, thats a lot of meat. They only serve red meat here about every other day, so I eat a lot of chicken breasts.
