Slow your role? Did you mean roll by any chance?

look man, you’re the one worried about how you look, who was even talking about strength? If you wanted to look good you’d add some muscle to your skeleton.
Not really knocking you too much, because I’m not huge either, but by your original question you brought this on yourself.

X2 and what the hell is Harrah’s pool party?
A party for degenerate gamblers.
Or people that like to have fun.

Degenerate people?
I’m confused by this seemingly contradictory statement:
" I dont care how big my muscles are" yet you want to look “Jacked”?
WTF, ha ha

okay. well it seemed as though by saying that anybody 155lbs has no muscle whatsoever, or strength for that matter. I clearly think thats wrong. I know people 6’3 with about 190-195lbs that look ripped, isn’t that somewhat the same as being 5’8 155lbs? You’re talking about an 8 inch height difference and only 40lb difference.
so the statement “if you wanted to look good you’d add some muscle to your skeleton” doesn’t really apply here. Plus, i told you i really don’t want to be huge, at all. brad pitt/fight club is more appealing to me than the arnold look.
and ya, i kind of did bring it on myself b/c i added the whole harrah’s pool party thing. if I had just asked the initial question without any background, it wouldn’t have caused such mass hysteria. I don’t understand what the big deal is.
p.s. slow your role/roll is ambiguous, once you understand the definition of role, it will make sense.

I didn’t know definition and body tone had anything to do with ‘huge’ muscles. =\ i’m sorry, i must be confused.

Well, I suppose the term JACKED is subjective. Whenever I use the word jacked it tends to imply a big dude. Not necessarily someone with single digit BF but is actually just skinny as opposed to really lean with good size.
Don’t get all worked up man, you have a pool party to prepare for!
Just to clarify, you think Brad Pitt in Fight Club is jacked?
wow, the times sure have changed haven’t they.

lol, I didn’t realize he was 155. amazing
165, and it doesn’t make a difference. I’m only 5’8. I’m not really going for the meathead look and could care less of how big my muscles are.
Either way, if I can bench almost double my weight, I’d slow your role jehova and stop critiquing how much I weigh in pounds and it’s relevancy to strength. and try answering the initial question next time, thanks. =)

Did this kid just imply “RELATIVE STRENGTH”?
You just killed your own thread, sparky.

Freaking priceless…

I fail to see what’s so funny about that.
Everyone has to start somewhere…most of you were probably insecure, self-conscious little twigs yourself when you started out, which is probably what got you into training in the first place. So stop with all the caustic posts.
Also, the big powerlifter types must learn to understand that not everyone shares their desire to turn into a 300lb walking heart attack.
165 is pretty thin, but if one’s lean at 5’8" 165 they could look decent. I have a question: Brad Pitt is a good looking guy and was obviously in good shape for fight club, but how and when did he become the universal standard for how thin guys who don’t want to get “too big”.
Seriously, it’s like clockwork. No one ever uses a different basis of comparison, it’s Pitt in fight club every time. What’s that about?

Most guys who train but “don’t want to get too big” are usually doing it for the girls.
Pitt has that ideal, lean v-shape physique in fight club and on top of that he’s supposed to be the biggest hollywood ‘hunk’. That’s what makes him a role model for those guys.
This thread is going to shit real quick. I’m sure it will only get better.
And we’re not knocking the kid for being 155 lbs, as yes we all started somewhere too.
We’re knocking him, because of his stats along with his original post. If someone can’t find the hilarity in it, then I can’t help them.
How the FUCK does a BONE “pump up”
?!?!?
NO Xplode BABY!

come on man, those statements are contradicting each other. Weight isn’t stats? lol i can understand the original post though, i did do it for shits and giggles or else i wouldn’t have added anything about AC.
And hey, I started out at 130lbs freshman year of college. So I gained 35lbs of lean muscle, and lost about 5% BF. I’ve only been working out hard for about 2 years.
I think it’s a start. I would never want to be over 185lbs, it’s just not my goal. About the brad pitt thing, I don’t know, I just think its a cool physique. If it makes everyone feel better, I change my physique goals to his role in Troy. That cool?

Mine pumps up fine…
That comment of his was just a little poke at humour i guess

Thanks King Bling, someone whos reply is down to earth. Attracting females is more rewarding than attracting a fellow meathead in the gym that will say I’ve been lifting well. I could really care less what other males think about me. But that’s just me.
And Jehova is right, this thread is gone to shit. Why couldn’t people just write some solution like ‘refilling my glycogen by eating low GI carbs 12 hours before and high GI carbs 6 hrs before’ instead of criticizing my goals?

Outside of those who started for sports, most lift for pussy or to not get fucked with. Most people don’t realize that in real life [at that point] Pitt would look like a skinny kid.
He was around 160lbs in that flick. He was damn lean to be sure, but still skinny. I could give a shit what some one else wants to look like. That’s their business.
