Ok, but I’ll have to manage my diet better though. And for the newbie gains, I didn’t get much, probably because of my diet…
Salut! Welcome to the board dude… ![]()
Ummmm… I would concentrate on just gaining some muscle… not cutting… as you gain more muscle… which is metabolically active tissue… it’ll fire up your furnace… to keep it there… and will slowly burn the fat…
I would keep it simple… have good meals… maybe eat your carbs after training, and in the morning… then not so much at night time… go from there…
Ok, thank you.
I think that I’m gonna keep it simple for 2009 in the end, eat healthily and I’m probably going to start the starting strenght program by Mark Rippetoe.
All advice is welcome.
Thank you all.
Sounds good man! Do it up! ![]()

Hi.
I designed a fat loss nutrition plan following Christian Thibaudeau’s recommendations in his nutrition for newbies articles. I’m 16 years old, I weight about 175 pounds and my height is about 5’9". Being the kind of person that gets fat easily, I decided to use a low carb diet. I’m aiming 2000 calories a day, 2500 being how many calories I would normally need. So here’s my plan:
Breakfast : 3 whole baked eggs
Snack 1: 2 slices of cheese
Lunch: 280 grams of chicken with 1 cup of raw broccoli
Snack 2: 2 slices of cheese
Dinner: 300 grams of turkey with 1 cup of cooked broccoli
Snack 3: 170 grams of canned tuna
This diet fulfills my carb/fats/proteins recommandations. I wanted someone to tell me if I could improve this diet in any way, or if I did something wrong.
Also, I wondered if eating only 2000 calories per day would slow my metabolism down and give me the yo-yo effect, because that’s something I don’t want to get. I’m aiming a loss of 1 or 2 pounds of fat per week, is this too much?
Thank you very much.
PS: Sorry for my writing skills.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I used www.fitday.com to count my calories and everything else, if it can help…

2000 ?? Do you sit around ALL day and do nothing ??
Thats VERY low…
But just some small changes i would make:
Breakfast:
5oz Red Meat
12-16 Almonds
Some green Veg
1/2 Tin Pumpkin
Snack 1:
1/2 Tub Cottage Cheese
1 Tablespoon NATURAL PEanut Butter
Lunch:
280 grams of chicken with 1 cup of raw broccoli
Add: 8g Fish Oil, 2g Evening Primrose Ol
Snack 2:
1/2 Tub Cottage Cheese
1 Tablespoon NATURAL Peanut Butter
Dinner: 300 grams of turkey with 1 cup of cooked broccoli
If this is post gym then leave out fat this is cool
Before Bed?
1/2 Tub Cottage Cheese
1 Tablespoon NATURAL Peanut Butter
1/2 Tin Pumpkin
The snack is alot better, cottage cheese is casien protein which takes AGES to digest so lasts from meal to meal, and natural peanut butter is Very good ![]()
Pumpkin is For VItamin A
After 2 weeks post back and ill give you other additions.
Happy New Year
Well, that’s the diet for non-training days, and I will spend most of my time sitting in class not doing much. I calculated the calories I needed for my weight and removed 20%, like CT adviced.
Well thank you for your modifications, i’ll check it out. Happy new year.

Well, I’m gonna start rippetoe for the new year, before I had some program designed by a trainer at the gym, needless to say it sucked.
dude, most trainers follow a textbook that doesnt give good advice
like my certification organization’s book is the dumbest thing i’ve ever read
luckily, i know better than t o actually tell someone to do that bullshit
im going to look at that program, ive never heard of it before

Ripptoes is one of the most famous beginners 5*5 program around ![]()
I wouldn’t worry to much about it, if all beginners stayed on that program for their 1st year there would be ALOT less confusion around.
Well everyone, thanks for your feedback, this has turned in a very expected way.
In the end, I’m gonna focus on training and healthy habits and forget about cutting for now.
Thanks everyone.
