I was looking at some articles by Korfist about flexibility and stiffness. It seems like it would be pretty beneficial to a sprinter. Can someone tell him how to gain more flexibility without losing stiffness?
Thank you.

Yes the stretch reflex etc from the stiffness etc warrants not being to flexible. its an odd balance in all sports have to try and get the optimal range.
Id say your best bet would be post on the Mike Robertson and or Eric Cressey in the Authors Locker Room.
In the CK articles you’re referring to, flexibility and stiffness are unrelated.
Flexibility (and/or extensibility) is the ability of your body to move through different ranges of motion.
Stiffness (as used by Korfist) is how quickly your body can “lock up” and reverse direction in a strong plyometric contraction- like when sprinting.
Good ways to improve flexibility- Overhead or olympic squats (light) with a pause in the deeeep position, Bulgarian split squats with a really wide base and a deep stretch, again pausing in the bottom position. Stuff like that.
Good ways to improve stiffness-
Stiff-legged drops, line hops, etc. Anything where the focus is on minimizing amortization time.
Check out the “Inno-Sport Questions” thread here. I think it’s on the second page. Feel free to post some more specific questions on there.
