Flex Wheeler's Arm Training Vids

Hey sorry if I’m a little late to the party but I posted this as a question on this board quite a while ago

http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding/flex_wheeler_2

After I posed the question I did alot of research and read EVERYTHING I could about Flex and read all the interviews I could find etc.

I never found anything where he admitted to using synthol. I did, however, find a quote by Shawn Ray saying that he accused Flex of synthol and implants just to throw him off his game because he was so cocky and Shawn KNEW it would bother the shit outta Flex. Anyway, I have no actual idea if he ever injected synthol for sure obviously, but I’m leaning toward no.

He is a failure and a complete douchebag IMO.

I don’t believe a single word that comes out of that guys mouth and he has done more to harm the sport of bodybuilding than help it. He also considers himself to be a bodybuilder. I have never seen a pic of him where I was impressed.

he had some decent pics so I will retract my last sentence.

I still don’t like him. lol

We all know that Flex just had the best genetics, I don’t think anyone will argue that. While I don’t subscribe to the synthol theory, I will suggest that just as certain bodyparts grow faster than others, some are more reluctant to shrink down as well. I have an old buddy who always had a great back. 10 years out of college, he doesn’t really train anymore, but his back still looks huge (especially in comparison to the rest of his physique). IS it synthol? Of course not, for whatever reason, his body just chose not to reabsorb the majority of muscle from that area as it had with his arms, pecs, and legs.

Just my 2 cents guys.

Valentinto actually came off as very articulate in Bigger Stronger Faster*, I was surprised.

Wheeler is probably the most gifted BBer of all time, IMHO.
People often deny the extreme strengths of others as a way to deal with their own insecurities. It’s as if they’re saying “I don’t have what it takes to work THAT hard to make a change in myself, so I’ll deny the efforts and results of others.”

Human nature.

yea I was surprised too. He has that NO BULL attitude…but too bad he’s full of BULL.

Gotta respect him for being a capitalist I guess…through MD and his stint with supps I’d imagine he’s made a decent career out of his circus act.

I still don’t like him. haha

when he actually just talks about training, he makes a good deal of sense. usually he’s “in character”, though, which makes him seem like a complete 'tard.

Could be due to shadow stretching or the angle, but it sure as hell doesn’t look good there. Strange that they put that shot in.

Wait, so there are people dumb enough to accuse a shadow of synthol use?

Synthol doesn’t flex.[/quote]

Someone posted there that they read in Flex’s book (Flex Ability) that Flex admitted to Synthol usage! I haven’t read the book, but I highly doubt it’s in there.
Anyone here read that book?

Damn. Entire threads dedicated to Flex’s alleged Synth/oil use:

Hmnn ya know, I hate to sound like some of the online haters, picking apart videos for anything to whine about, but I just watched the youtube link above, and I found myself thinking about how small his forearms look from training that supposedly built such huge upper arms. I know you can always argue genetics,… and I’m not going to cast dispersions either way, but it does look a little odd.

I agree, Stu. If Flex admits oil or Synth use in his book, then I’ve lost respect for the guy whom I once thought one of the greatest.
I feel compelled to buy the book just to find the truth.

I am very much against synthol use, but I wouldn’t drop flex as one of my all time favs just for that.

He still built one hell of a physique…even if parts where oil :stuck_out_tongue: lol

Hmm. What could be your reason for posting this? Possibly to set Gerdy up so that you can start an argument, hmmm?

nope just synthol use. Or implants…anything that isn’t dense muscle.

arnold kind of had the same issue, relatively small forearms compared to upper arms.

if i remember right, on an episode of MD’s radio show a while back, flex said he used synthol ONCE in his biceps. it has most likely long since dissipated . he was a pretty frequent esiclene user, however, (along with levrone).

even the best of the best sometimes need a little extra, i guess.
