i guess if you have a strict caloric daily limit, then take it in the night, but otherwise it doesn’t really matter,
i take a swig during my 2nd meal, and another swig during my 5th meal
so i get like 30g of flax oil a day, and maybe 20 fish oil caps, 2 tins sardines, walnuts, and sometimes some olive oil
i love my fats
I have a tablespoon in my morning shake. Nice flavour.
I take them in capsules in the morning while drinking my protein shake
If you are consuming the flaxseed oil for its omega 3s, you’re much better off switching to a krill, salmon or cod liver oil as the conversion pathways for the body to pull out the EPA/DHA from flaxseed oil tends not to yield very much actual EPA/DHA. Poliquin has talked extensively about this.
As for the AM or PM question, it doesn’t matter however I would consume it away from your pre/post workout meal.

Any kind of omega3 intake can make it hard to sleep for some (like me for instance). I always take it in the morning and never afternoon since I might be up all night if I do.
I remember reading somewhere that flax seed oil is a short chain omega-3 and fish oils are long chain omega-3s. That being said, short chain omega-3s are supposed to be better at reducing inflamation than long chain omega 3s, and thus if the pain of injuries (old or present) are bothering you, then I’d still stick with flax oil.
