Flax seed oil

Re: JR’s comments about hemp oil tasting just as nasty, I kinda like the flavour of hemp oil. It’s nutty & blends well with most protein powder flavours. Problem is, it’s predominantly an omega 6 oil, whereas flax is best for those omega 3 fatty acids.

Hmmm… perhaps my Hemp is rancid - I never tried it before - so I ordered it from the protein factory - great price…the last bottle of flax I ordered from them was a little nasty too…I’ll have to give it another try.

Someone on another forum suggested using flax seeds and grinding them up in a coffe grinder and adding it to your shakes(probably what protein factory does).Plus you get the added benefit of more fiber.

Try drizziling it on oatmeal, salads, steamed veggies, in cottage cheese. I love flax oil, it makes everything taste better, and add salt to your veggies, oatmeal, and salad too. I really think alomost everything tastes better with it. Just keep using it and you’ll learn to love it, like all bbing food. Till then suck it up ya pussy!

One of the major brands (?omega) makes garlic chili flavored flax oil. Or eat salmon for omega 3s and use olive oil for extra calories.

Just like JJ_360 I also enjoy the taste of flax seed oil!
The trick is to purchase a reputable brand like Barlean’s
which contains a brown sludgy substance called lignan. When
shaken, the lignan mixes with the oil and gives it a nutty flavor.
The other trick is to purchase it from a local heath food store
(instead of over the Internet) - the reason being that the local
retailer receives it wrapped in cold packs and immediately puts
it in the fridge (at least mine does). This keeps it FRESH! Many
claim that flax doesn’t need to be refrigerated until after it is
opened… I say - BULL COOKIES!

Personally, I don’t think the flax oil is THAT bad, but I don’t know about swigging it from the bottle like some of these guys! I like to mix very well drained tuna, a tbs. of flax oil, and some fresh squeezed lemon. Add some raw veggies, or some lite mayo and/or mustard, black pepper, and BAM! When I do this, I can barely taste the oil. Adding it to cottage cheese is pretty decent also. Also, keep up with the flax oil. Not only does it help with the bb’ing, but it’s helped my skin alot AND has made my hair look really good. Just my 2 cents!
