I am sick of taking my usual 2-3 tablespoons of Flaxseed oil everyday. Just even thinking of it makes me want to yack. Can I replace all my omega-3 needs with salmon oil capsules? I’m a male 28 yrs old, 5’8, 175lbs. If so, please spec a brand, where to buy em, quanity I should take ect…oh yea best price as well.

If you ever use a protein shake (not your post-workout though), then just add it to that. If you get the Barleans lignan rich, make sure you mix it up, the lignans on the bottom taste good.
I know exactly what you mean. I’ve recently started taking 5 tablespoons/day of a flax/sesame/sunflower oil blend. (1 tbsp. per 40lb. body weight) I find it goes down better now than it did in the begining. I break mine up in to 2x2.5 tbsp servings/day blended with my shakes takin pre and post work-out. I’ve talked to others on the subject and i’m told that cap form just isn’t has effective. My advice is to suck it up. Its all in your head. Try proving to yourself that you can exercise your mind, as well as your body.
I use the Barlean’s lignan rich, too, and really like it. It tastes sort-of nutty. Also, I’ve found it feels good in my stomach. However, when I tried adding it to a protein shake (we always have to try that) it mostly gummed up the inside of the blender jar. I’ve just felt the stuff is expensive enough not to waste (i.e. having some of it remain in the salad bowl).
Hey N6 - Salmon oil capsules will prob. make you gag even more. I’ve burped fish from those! Try taking Health from the Sun (I think that name is right) or one in all black bottle (forgot the name) - that is ess. fatty acids (NOT FROM FISH THOUGH!). Or, better yet, eat fish - salmon, mackeral, herring, halibut etc.
If you think the TASTE of flax seed oil is bad, at least you don’t experience flax farts like I do! I farted near my dog a few weeks ago, and he started to howl and claw the door to be taken outside.
When mixing your flax oil in with your protein shake, add a little powdered soy lecithin (NOT liquid lecithin; stay away from that nasty liquid stuff.) The lecithin is an emulsifier and helps the oil mix in with the shake. Lecithin contains phospholipids which are good for you, but lecithin contains none of the soy proteins that we all love to hate. I’ve had good results with lecithin and Barlean’s added to my Grow!
