Flax Linseed Oil

A few people have told me to take Linseed Oil. Has anyone used it and knows whether this stuff is actually good or not? Or if there is a better one out there? I am also not really understanding how it works, they said it will harden you up. Is this true?

Linseed oil? I use it to condition my saddle and riding boots…however, I take flax seed oil every day

Well, technically speaking linseed oil and flaxseed oil are the same since linseed oil is oil from flaxseeds. I’ve never seen nutritional flaxseed oil that you would buy at the market called linseed oil. You can find linseed oil at a hardware store, etc. The distinction seems to be that linseed oil is ‘industrial’ grade and flaxseed oil is ‘nutritional’ grade (i.e. they’re subjected to very different processing standards).

As far as hardening you up, flaxseed oil is apparently very helpful in burning off subcutaneous fat, particularly so when used in ketogenic diets like the fat fast or T-dawg diets (more info available on those via the FAQ and the archived articles).

And now from the "what it's worth department", the 'lin' in linseed comes from 'linum' which is Latin for (drum roll please) flax.
