yeah guys get some dunk vids up… both of you! That vert thread was dying for a little while but seems to have picked up a bit.

Those are some lofty goals WF but I’m sure you’ll get em. keep at it and no more lame ass injuries ok? Deal![/quote]

What up Greg? Thanks man. I’m actually fairly close to the jumping/dunking goals, but my bench sucks balls. My job entails that I’m on my feet in dress shoes for 8+ hours a day walking close to 3+ miles daily [manager calc’d it] so I’m pretty tired by the end of the day, but I get off work manana about 8 and am gonna hit the gym. If my shin’s not being gay and there’s someone to take a vid I’ll get some more dunk vids up. My timing is still a little off, but my hops are coming back fairly quickly. Within the next few weeks I’ll post a reverse off the glass, and hopefully a pump reverse.

Didn’t get off work 'til 7 tonight and was pretty tired, so no ball [and my shin’s still achey]. Went home, chilled for a bit then got to the gym about 9.

Hey man,

I like your dunk vids - do more plz.
All the best with reaching your goals - looking forward to seeing them when you do.

My hometown court kicked me out recently for doing dunks - it was weird? Apparently they have a no dunking policy, but it doesn’t apply when you’re playing in a game.
It’s a bummer because I was planning on doing some vids to get some tips and stuff (was amped after reading the vert. thread) - my technique is pretty ordinary atm. But I’m on the lookout, so hopefully I’ll find a new ring soon.

What’s up Tank? Thanks man. I plan on getting a whole bunch more dunk vids in the coming months. Not having really played ball for a few years I feel like I’m getting more fluid with my jumping by the day [when healthy], so I plan on being back to where I was in my prime pretty soon. Did they give you a reason for kicking you out? There reasoning sounds pretty arbitrary. Do y’all have churches with gyms in 'em, or rec centers or something comparable?[/quote]

Awesome man - looking forward to it! All the best.

It was weird, they have signs on the backboards with “No Dunking/hanging…” etc. so I made sure that the dunks were as ‘clean’ as possible - I was on a back court too, which made it even more strange.

But this lady was watching me for a little bit, gave no warnings etc. then came up to me and asked me to leave - I wasn’t going to argue, because she was ‘really’ worked up and was in bitch mode + there was a small crowd of people watching.
The management has a pretty bad rep and was very much the same years ago as well. Doesn’t matter they were charging $12 an hour anyway…

I found a ring at some tennis courts lol, better than nothing I suppose - I’m not sure if it’s regulated height, but it seemed close dunking tennis balls. Once the rain clears, I’ll go down if the court’s free.

Are you saying they charge you $12 an hour to play ball indoors? That’s fucking insane. You don’t have access to a gym that has a court in it? Like a 24 hr fitness or a rec center or something?

or a YMCA? Every Y that I’ve ever seen has outdoor courts at least.

You get any new dunk vids WF?

Yep it’s a joke, I don’t even know why I paid it - I was too keen I suppose.
The Rec Center/YMCA is next door to the stadium, (I went there first - used to spend time there as a kid) there’s a basketball ring but it’s packed up high - making room for the boxing ring, gymnastic mats etc. because it’s where they get the most revenue.

Only other places are schools, but they’re all fenced and the tennis court I mentioned earlier at a resort. If I could, I’d put one up myself but I just don’t have the space. None of the local gyms have them either - I live in a small city/town but there’s something like 4 major chain gyms and they’re all exactly the same (just different names) and run through a new owner every year or so because they go broke. Anyway I’m ranting here… sorry.

Didn’t even think of that. You could probably sneak onto a Y’s outdoor court.

Nah man. Didn’t get off work 'til about 9 and didn’t get to the gym 'til almost 10. My feet are killing me, my back was tight, my groin’s still janky [it’s been almost 2 months!?!?!?] and my shin hurts. All that adds up to me being a giant pussy. Ended up playing pick-up for about an hour and a half but no vids. Had a couple of 2-handers off a drop step, but they were basically rub-ins. Have the day off manana so if I’m feeling better I’ll try and get some before I do legs. If not, I’ll get some up soon.

Damn man. Don’t know how it is Down Under but here in the States [at least Houston] a lot of churches have courts. Might be worth looking into.

Well, since my groin’s still janky and my shin hurts like shit think I’m just gonna chill today. Have the day off so gonna grub, foam roll, do mobility stuff and watch ball. Get off work the next 2 days about 8 so gonna do rep upper and ME lower on Thurs/Friday, and if things are feeling better I’ll get some vids. If not, I’ll get 'em as soon as I feel up to it. It’s getting really frustrating: from my knees, to my shin, to my groin -whatever - it seems like something’s always breaking down. I would gladly trade 10 years off the back end of my life to have 1 year of pain free, healthy living. But, that shit’s unrealistic so I just gotta work with what I got. Y’all be good.

You know who had good dunks?

The dude with the knives…he owned you Flash.

I make no promises.

I’m sorry you’re breaking down =(

I have no idea what that means, but it had me legitimately laughing out loud anyway. Roc, you ol’ Rascal you.

Churches scare me…

It’s cool - went to the ring at the resort yesterday, it’s about a cm short of 10ft.
The court was taken so I couldn’t do much, got a very puzzled look when I asked if I could quickly measure the height. The school holidays are on, so it’s going to be fairly busy, so hopefully within the fortnight I can go work on technique etc.

Stayed out too late last night, worked all day, ate like shit and didn’t get to the gym 'til about 10, but had a decent workout.

Shot some ball for 15-20 minutes to get loose

explosive push-ups 5 or 6x3

DB Inc-37.5’sx8, 75’sx12,12,8 [my endurance blows]

Dead hand wide grip pull-ups-4x10,10,10,8

Db Military-25’sx?,50’sx3x10 [pretty easy, little rest] + rope pulls-4x10

Arm Superset

Staying between 170-175 I’m obviously fairly lean [pic in profile] but for some reason all of a sudden I’m getting “new” veins poking out in my forarms and upper arms. Not exactly sure why, but I think it looks cool as shit so I’ll take it, haha. ME lower manana. If I’m not too tired I’ll get some dunk vids. Y’all be good.

Yay for dunk vids! =)

Amazing you got in a good workout after all that; my workouts are screwed if I do only one of what you mentioned.

None tonight, but they’re coming soon, no foolin’. Yeah, the tall coffee with an extra shot of espresso definitely helped…

Shot some ball to get loose, but no vids. Also, my upper body is pretty tight from yesterday and my jumper was B-R-O-K-E. Even so, shin’s feeling better, but my groin seems stuck at about 80%. Guess as long as it’s not getting worse I shouldn’t bitch. Anyway-

12" box squat w/ square blue pad-barx5,95x5,135x5,185x5,225x3,255x3,275x3,295x3,315x2 [Think it’s a pr]

Bulg db split squats- bwx5, 30’sx10,40’sx10, 50’s [with lead leg on same blue pad]x8

Ghetto ghr’s-3x10

Didn’t start lifting 'til almost 10:30, so was pretty tired but am starting to get used to the late lifting. And, even though I’m pretty beat by the time I get to the gym the last 2 days I’ve had as good of workouts as I have in awhile so that’s cool. Y’all be good.
