sounds like your doing the agile 8 from defranco
its solid for lower.
Dislocates help allot- for me but im like old and shit.
I use a broomstick at home.
I have to do allot of shoulder prep for any kind of pressing.
I started a mobility sticky in over 35 - its just a collection of stuff
that I found and do just a collection of links really.
I tried grabbing the rim a few weeks ago- I used to be able to grab it with out running
all I could manage was net.
I guess we all figured out Jones vs Rua Doh.

Man, I’m a beat up 29. One surgically repaired knee, the other’s had scoping, a partially torn right rotator [that I never got fixed], Osgood Schlatters in my left knee/shin, all kinds of broken bones… I could go on and on. When I was younger I’d just run out and do shit with no thought to stretching or warming up. When I was 24 I could dunk 2 hands from a standstill with barely a sweat going. Now I don’t leave the house without knee braces, haha. If I can stay injury free I’m confident that I can get back to a 2 hand 360. That’s my goal any way. Man, I couldn’t have been more wrong on the Shogun/Bones fight. Didn’t see it but apperantly Jones mauled him. Isn’t Evans up next?
Well, despite my tough talk I’ve decided to rest up this week. My groin’s still jacked up and it’s been close to a month, my shoulder’s still buggin’ and I’ve been getting a cold. Think my body needs a break. Been stretching and doing mobility stuff, but other than Monday haven’t touched a weight or played ball since Tuesday. If everything’s still jacked up by this Monday just gonna say “fuck it” and keep pushing, but it’s pretty obvious my body needs a break. If I had listened like this when I was younger I’d have saved my body a ton of wear and tear.
OMG!!!LOL!!!WTF!!!BBQ!!! Well, took basically all of last week off, groin was feeling better and just a little tender, played ball last night [and was jumping and moving pretty well] and sho nuff strained the shit out of it again. This is getting ridiculously frustrating. Looks like I’m going to need to just chill until my body tells me I can run around again. Gonna lift and try and work around it but not gonna do any running or jumping 'til there’s no pain in the groin. The day I can move without pain, I promise a new dunk vid. Y’all be good.
Smart move with the rest man, you know if you really want you can start posting in the over 35 forum…you know being proactive cant wait to see the vid man, that’ll be sick. Groins and hammies are just a bitch from what I hear there’s not much you could do but to rest em.

Hahaha. Is it sad that I’ve actually considered posting there? Man, if I would’ve just rested for a week when it happened [about a month ago] I probably woulda been straight. It’s my dumbass fault I’m where I am. I’ll get a few vids up bro, it’s just probably gonna be a couple of weeks. Caught a 2-hand dunk off a drop step and a lob reverse last night with the groin thing. If I’m healthy I think I can start working on some decent tricks. I’ve had some groin issues before, but nothing that lingered like this. This is frustrating like no other.
Im playing in that football league and we just started back up two weeks ago. they got me playing QB this year and all that scrambling around and juking has my groan and hip flexors all whacked off as well. I’ve been resting it up a little and trying to foam roll a lot (glad I’ve got one at the house) I wanna get back in the gym and jump some but I’ve been sore from the games on saturdays.

damn man that sucks about the injuries.

Yeah man, but it’s my fault. If I woulda listened to my body when it started about a month ago and just chilled I’d be completely fine by now. Doing things 2-legged doesn’t bother it too much, but running or planting off of one leg is what’s reaggrevated it everytime. You think I woulda learned to not do that, haha.
How’s the league? I filled in for 2 games in a league a few years ago and it was a blast. Dude, foam rolling is the shit. Do you do any mobility work? Can’t endorse it enough. If I had done just simple maintenance stuff in my early 20’s I’m convinced most of my major injuries would never have happenned. How old are you Greg?

The league is good. We’re in the A division (second from the top) and its pretty competitive which is fun. We won our first game and lost by 8 on saturday to the top team in the league. They lost by 2 points in the championship game last year. We had a dropped TD pass in the endzone and dropped a would be pick 6… so its not bad for how many new guys we have.
I’ve been doing some hip mobility stuff lately. What i’m doing is some stuff from a Cressey video series and it seems to be helping. I’m gonna be 28 in May.
Been awhile since I’ve posted. Have basiclly taken off since the last post to let my body heal up. Everything’s been feeling good so got back into it tonight and SHO NUFF!!! my groin acted up after the first game of ball. Looks like this is just another thing I’m gonna have to deal with. Even so, I was jumping really well. My timing was way off but I was getting up as well as I have in awhile.
Played for probably 30-45 minutes then lifted. Bringing my bench grip back to crease of thumb on smooth meets knurling line to take pressure off my shoulders. Oh yeah, my bodyweight’s down to 170 on the dot, but it appears that all I’ve lost is fat which is cool. Anyway-
Bench-barx?,95x8,135x6,185x3,205x3,215x3,225x3, 3-board-225x3, 185x9 to chest
Realized for me to feel and move well I need to keep my bodyweight down. Gonna get back up to 175 and probably stay there give or take a few L-bo’s. Y’all be good.
Went on a date last night and ended up staying out 'til about 3 am, so needless to say I felt like shit all day. Played ball for about an hour and put down some decent dunks, but only got one on film. My shin’s killing me so I need to figure out how to keep that pain down. It’s been off and on since my early 20’s, and I don’t know when or why the pain creeps in but when it does it sucks. Anyway, after ball and the way my shin feels I just wanted to get the basics in
12" box squat with 2" or 3" pad on box-barx5,95x5,135x5,185x5,225x5,255x5,275x5 [had probably 20lbs more in the tank but didn’t want to push too hard with my groin and shin]
GHR’s-3x8
Called it after that. Soon as the shin feels better I’ll get some new dunks down. I’m feeling springy enough to get down a lob 360 right now, I just need to make sure my body won’t collapse on itself, haha.
CG Inc-barx2x10,95x10,135x3x10 [way tougher than I anticipated]
Dead hand wide grip pull-ups-4x10,10,10,7 + Rope pulls-4x10
Seated db laterals-7.5x10,15x12,20x2x10 + BB Shrugs-135x10,225x3x10
Arm superset
The cg inc’s were way harder than I thought they’d be. I felt like such a pussy with just 135 on the bar, haha. Think I did 'em during Cressey’s program, but I was a lot stronger then [also only focused on lifting then so it makes sense]. My goal is to stay between 175-180, bench at least 315, low box squat at least 405, dunk 2-hands from a standstill and put down a 360 off the run. I need to hold myself accountable for those goals and stay focused. Not sure where my bench is right now, but I’m fairly close to the other goals. As soon as my knee/shin feels better I’ll post a vid of an easy 2-hand dunk off of a drop step, and a dunk with one foot planted. Y’all be good.
I always like CGBP for high reps, so I have sometimes loaded 1 plate and repped the fuck out of em, after a while my tris were screaming…I WAS SWOLE! LOL…LETS GO KNICKS!
I like your dunk vids - do more plz.
All the best with reaching your goals - looking forward to seeing them when you do.
My hometown court kicked me out recently for doing dunks - it was weird? Apparently they have a no dunking policy, but it doesn’t apply when you’re playing in a game.
It’s a bummer because I was planning on doing some vids to get some tips and stuff (was amped after reading the vert. thread) - my technique is pretty ordinary atm. But I’m on the lookout, so hopefully I’ll find a new ring soon.

What’s up Tank? Thanks man. I plan on getting a whole bunch more dunk vids in the coming months. Not having really played ball for a few years I feel like I’m getting more fluid with my jumping by the day [when healthy], so I plan on being back to where I was in my prime pretty soon. Did they give you a reason for kicking you out? There reasoning sounds pretty arbitrary. Do y’all have churches with gyms in 'em, or rec centers or something comparable?

Awesome man - looking forward to it! All the best.
It was weird, they have signs on the backboards with “No Dunking/hanging…” etc. so I made sure that the dunks were as ‘clean’ as possible - I was on a back court too, which made it even more strange.
But this lady was watching me for a little bit, gave no warnings etc. then came up to me and asked me to leave - I wasn’t going to argue, because she was ‘really’ worked up and was in bitch mode + there was a small crowd of people watching.
The management has a pretty bad rep and was very much the same years ago as well. Doesn’t matter they were charging $12 an hour anyway…
I found a ring at some tennis courts lol, better than nothing I suppose - I’m not sure if it’s regulated height, but it seemed close dunking tennis balls. Once the rain clears, I’ll go down if the court’s free.
