Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

No, I found it corny and too unrealistic.
I don’t like sci fi in general

Rocky IV??? You can’t compare that! The ending was almost as dumb as the ending to Arrival. Not that silly Charlie Sheen flick. The one where Lois Lane convinces a CCP general to call off a WAR by calling his personal cellphone and telling him his dying wife’s last words (AHAHAHAHAHA BWAHAHAHAHAH omg you guys should have heard the collective groan followed by uncontrollable laughter in the theater here). At least Rocky had a itsy bitsy basis in reality after Ali’s “Rumble in the Jungle” went down.

Back to the Future was more of a “kid understanding why there’s a generation gap” kind of thing. The sci fi stuff was really just there for creating the premise and driving the plot. It didn’t have to make any sense. You wanna see what genuinely, hilariously bad sci fi is like, watch The Core. It’s so bad, it’s bloody awesome.

This generation hasn’t even figured out how to use the 3 sea shells yet. They’re running out of time. Demolition Man wasn’t a movie. It was a prophecy.

I keep telling people that and they think I’m nuts! It just seems like that’s where we’re headed.

I can’t decide whether they used this cut of this scene on purpose or not lol. If for some reason they only had one good take, they could have easily made Stallone redub the audio later. Shit, I even suspect they used the audio from some other scene they didn’t include in the final cut and spliced it in.

I’m still going with prophecy. No excuses. We were warned.

I love that film. Stallone, Bullock, and Snipes…what’s not great about that.

Mystery Science Theater 3000!

That was an awesome show full of bad sci-fi and some good riffing.

My favorite one is when they ripped on a film called “Souktaker”.

Yeah, but the bad sci fi movies wouldn’t have stood on their own without the riffing. Fucking hell, how do you sit through The Creature from the Black Lagoon even as a bad movie fan and not go nuts lol?

…There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different from you and me;
He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
Just another face in a red jumpsuit,
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
But his bosses didn’t like him so they shot him into space…

…they send him cheesy movies
The worst that they can find…

This is getting a little too real now that Bezos and Musk both own successful rocket companies.

Never saw the movie, but it was one of my favorite SNES games growing up behind the donkey Kong franchise, mortal Kombat 3, contra 3-alien wars and earthworm Jim

Battle toads also holds a place in my heart, but I never owned it… also teenage mutant ninja turtles- turtles in time…

I’m about to scrounge ebay for these.

I’m sorry :disappointed:

If I could be bothered, I’d open up adobe and insert the “PENIS!” audio clip right at 2.16 lol. Maybe it was initially there and they removed it…

Too funny!

Lol it would actually make some sense. It would explain the seemingly redundant scene of that naked chick. It was so quick the censors where I lived probably didn’t even notice it or it would 100% have been censored. What was that scene for lol? What else was left on the cutting floor? And then later Stallone starts knitting…

twilight zone theme

Is Demolition Man really a story about a man “demolishing” his masculine side?

It was weird. I don’t think anybody has figured out what it was doing in the movie. It may have been. I was probably too young at the time to analyze it, but now that you mention it.

Lol. Think about it. When Stallone sees the BAD GUY in this scene, whom he’s gonna KILL at the end, what does he yell?

How do you mispronounce “Phoenix” as “PENIS!”. I doubt even Stallone could pull that off unwittingly.

And how does he kill him? He freezes him and knocks his head off. Wesley Snipes has a pretty big head. That frozen posture could have taken on a phallic shape for a moment with the right camera angle.

:joy:
