As you can see, it didn’t take much to cover that up!
I confess that I have deliberately cut out all leg work and am only doing running and biking for it. It’s for a race, of course, and it absolutely helps me be faster and keep my joints healthier, but I am the anti-bro these days, doing 2x a week upper body with all supersets and half of the workout being bodyweight, and more cardio than lifting. Forgive me, bros.
I’m doing basically the same (I do a few sets of legs still) and funnily I’m in the best shape of my life.
I mean - we’re doing some pretty serious hills in the meantime, and the biking is about 1.5 hours of continuous work, and because I’m clipped in to my pedals, my hips are pulling as much as my legs are pushing, plus my hams are working with the pulling, so it’s a phenomenal full body workout with plenty of leg fatigue. Running as well. It’s just so, so, so much less hardcore than having something heavy on your back or picking up heavy stuff off the ground, so it’s a little demoralizing at times, but I find it’s tied in strongly with my mental health and how good I feel on a day-to-day basis.
I just agreed to a 24hr running relay, so I suspect I’ll be singing a similar tune man.
What kind of favor did you owe the person who invited you to this torture?
I confess I think Canada should switch from beef to reindeer and buffalo.
Think about it: they’re ungulates, like cows, but adapted to the environment already. Especially with regards to our winters.
The buffalo could be shared with the US to replace the lost herds, too.
And with reindeer, it now creates immense infrastructure in the northern territories, something that’s lacking.
Plus, when you combine their names, you get BUFFDEER!

Haha none actually, but their 4th bailed and they’d have to forfeit their registration if they can’t find a replacement. I figure it’s a new challenge that I’ll never repeat, and it’ll be with 2 of my best friends so we’ll all enjoy the suck together and down some whiskey afterwards.
