That’s great news. Adding some cardio just got really easy.
Mark Rippetoe showed up in my recommended Youtube feed.
The horror! The horror! ![]()
I confess that I take great joy in watching Mark telling skinny kids to eat more food and drink milk. As far as stopped clocks go, I’ll gladly look at that one twice a day.
I also take joy in watching Mark try to talk about conditioning, but for entirely different, darker and more sinister reasons.
Mark is the corkscrew on the swiss army knife of training.
As a follow up, the chicken was…ok. Biggest thing it was missing out on was crispiness, which I imagine I dorked up with my air frying. Probably could have spent a little longer, or put it a little hotter.
BUT, that Mrs enjoyed it and agrees with including it “in the rotation”, so that’s a win.
The first run is never the best.
Its nice to find stuff you like though.
My wife picked me up some of this-
just recently.
Its really good on white meats.
Another brand I like but have to be a little more careful with has a General Tso sauce I really want to give a shot.
I confess I might have just ruined 60 eggs bc I don’t know how to work a mini fridge
Any explanation you’d like to share? Maybe unpack that a little?
I confess I just found out that in the US it is common to refrigerate eggs.
I also confess I was worried I was weird so had to google ‘do eggs need to be put in the fridge’
I thought 7 was the warmest setting. turns out 1 is. the eggs have been in there for 3 days. They are probably frozen
the US washes eggs, which makes the shells more porus → lets bacteria in.
refrigeration prevents bacterial growth and infiltration
Anyone else feel like they don’t have enough time
Always, and I hate to say it but this gets worse as you get older. You learn to make the most of it though.
Oh yeah! The up goes down, down goes up temperature thing!
Me & the Wife have this convo all the time about the air conditioner. ![]()
This is exactly why I sleep 5 hours a day
I’m not gonna lie, I rather frequently think about what would happen if you just were put into some perfect hypothetical training environment. You are the epitome of “get to the yes” while working in tough parameters, and the success is amazing, which means I would kill to know what would happen with 8 hours of solid sleep a night, time for mobility and rehab work, juiced to the freaking gills, and absent any health concerns about eating like a 1980s SHW lifter.
Would probably do terrible things for…well just about every other aspect of you life besides training, but damn I bet you’d throw up some insane lifts.
I confess I’m totally with you here. Maybe next life?
I really appreciate that sentiment dude! I honestly wonder if I’d do poorly given those constraints. I feel I very much embody Nietzsche’s “Will to Power” concept: I’m constantly looking to overcome. In turn, having all these small set backs constantly in front of me gives me an opportunity to constantly be overcoming, which just drives and perpetuates success. If it came easy…would I want it? Haha.
I’m starting to look like Xeno, complete with the wavy bangs and elliptical beard.
Has that look come back into style or is it time for a haircut?
With enough thrust anything will fly.
