Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

I’m here to confess that this makes my blood boil. When my father was undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer a former friend of mine was working at a chiropractor’s office as an x-ray technician. She had the rare combination of ignorance and confidence necessary to suggest that my entire family and I were fools to ignore her treatment suggestions.

In hindsight, I should have found something to sue her for.

I hope all is well, old friend.

You get the same thing from Thai massages and a happier ending.

Finally the leaning out and conditioning work is paying real word dividends.

Blood pressure is down significantly and RHR is down by 10 beats per minute.

Here’s a confession for the confession thread:

I confess that I’ve started adding sunbutter to my morning breakfast burrito.

I got the idea from Harry Selkow over at Elitefts. His was peanut butter and eggs, and this was just the next logical step.

It’s amazing, and as a San Diego native, it’s a total affront to everything.

The trick is to spread it on the wrap first so that the contents stick to it. If you try to drizzle it on top, it’s just going to melt and run all over the place.

I do that with hummus and a lot of things.

I confess that I had McDonald’s for dinner last night. First time I’ve been in one for about 10 years.

This is what comes of going out and getting good and drunk on a schoolnight.

One of my peeps (78 yo) stills loves McDonald’s. I told her I haven’t been in one in at least 10 years and she was mortified.
Whataburger is a different story, can’t pass up a sweet and spicy bacon burger.

I’ve been living at a home stay and really don’t want to go back to living at home…

I feel no shame in eating good bad food - I love a Shake Shack burger. But I’d forgotten how bland and tasteless McD’s “cheese” burgers are.
I totally get why people buy them though: £4.50 for 3, which was plenty to fill me up. You’re paying £10 or more for a premium burger at a decent chain, before you start adding sides to it.

What is a home stay?

Basically ppl rent out rooms in their house for cheap, usually to foreign exchange students.

I was so desperate to get out of the house, I found one literally 5 miles from my house

Well, we can add that to things I didn’t know existed.

Certainly different strokes and different folks, but when I didn’t like it at home my dad told me to fuck off, and even assisted by throwing my stuff out and having me arrested.

I nearly got scammed 3 times. On the bright side, it inspired my independent study project and potentially my senior thesis

I confess that the comp Sci ppl at my school are making me question my views on humans.

I’ve never met any of them but they’ve gone out of their way to help me on random stuff

My father, when I said I was leaving at 16: “I can’t stop you!”

Not sure what I would have said if any of my kids wanted me to pay for them to live 5 miles away because they were unhappy at home. Something pretty close to “lol” I would imagine.

Just brainstorming a little but “It would cost me less to just have you shot.” comes to mind.

Or “The ball is in your court. But the money is in mine.”.

To be fair to my old man, I had become extremely violent by this point and refused to share the drug money I was making, so I can see why he was upset.
