Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

I swear, I vanish for a week to swing a kettlebell 10000 times and THIS is what I come back to?

Yikes, that all sounds difficult to say the least. I am confident my mom would be disappointed to learn I won’t have kids. My dad not so much, but I think it’s because his kids from a previous marriage already have quite a few of their own.

You’re in Utah, right? I can only imagine.

Sounds like you found an awesome husband though! I definitely enjoy reading about your adventures in your log, which I imagine would be far less frequent if you did have kids.

I personally think it is very cool that I, a smart and young woman, can be my own person and decide what I want from my life. A lot of other people, especially women, don’t have that privilege.

Yep. It has gotten more diverse over the last few years, but the people here are still primarily a part of the religion.

I really did. He is my adventure buddy and I am so glad I put a ring on it. Can’t imagine how many adventures I would not have gone on without him. He also doesn’t want kids, which is absolutely a key thing to agree on.

Everything about this statement is awesome. It is even better that you are exercising every part of this that you can. We won the lottery with life circumstances.

Don’t worry man, we’ve got a couple of nice troll threads going on on the side too.

I confess that I have been seeing a whole lot of memes like this lately and I absolutely love them.

So I signed up for a 3rd class (Intermediate Programming) and only 2 are needed for ā€œfull timeā€. I can drop (no punishment) the 3rd class within the first week so long as I haven’t completed any assignments.

Come to find out that everything I’ve been learning up to this point has been Python, and this class is in C#…

I confess I’m having second thoughts about following through with this class now; on the fence about dropping it or screwing myself with a huge workload in an unfamiliar language.

@dt79 Any experience with C#? Happy to take some pointers.

I don’t know about C#, but C++ is ass. Did awesome until we got to the ++ part. Luckily my scores from before the ++ (object oriented) part saved my grade.

C# isn’t too bad but it is a lot different than python

Well, C# is like the Ronnie Coleman of OOP but i’ve got a little experience/trauma from using C#… Haven’t had the displeasure to learn C++ yet.

When I was at Embry-Riddle, I had a Programming for Engineers course where they dropped me into C# with no in-person teaching, and I got to ā€œlearnā€ the language from a 1200 page C# textbook. It was like trying to teach yourself spanish with a spanish-spanish dictionary. Needless to say, I’m far from ā€˜fluent’ with C#.

This is what my concern is TBH. I feel like I was finally getting to a point with Python where I could make some stuff work and/or needed more difficult projects to learn - then they throw out C# and I’m struggling a bit coming to terms with it.

It’s not a question of IF I have to take the class, it’s WHEN… and right now I’m not super confident about signing up for an extra class in an unfamiliar language. (went from 6 credit/hours to 10 credit/hours by undertaking this course).

I have no idea what the last few posts are talking about.

Have you ever signed up for an extra class (that you would have to take anyways) just to finish up school faster?

I did that, then found out the class I signed up for is hella hard - now I’m on the fence about keeping the class for this term.

I’m just making a joke about all the computer/coding/nerd stuff. I know absolutely nothing about any of that.

I’ve decided to take the plunge on that extra class. Probably going to regret this, but I always tend to perform better under pressure so lets gooo.

For some reason, the exact topic of dogs being as difficult to raise as children has come up numerous times in social settings with my wife and I.

My go to response is always ā€œwell yeah kids are easier, I mean you can’t hit a dog.ā€

People always agree right off the bat, and then there’s the beautiful moment of realization as they think about my comment. I find it hysterical, though my wife doesn’t always agree lol

Instead of ā€œYour Choiceā€, that tagline needs to read ā€œNOW What’s your excuse?ā€
