I have one of these and I was a little gutted that the only sensible choice at the dealership was a tedious grey colour, because I agree the Mazda red is great. Nice little car, if a touch underpowered. When it comes time to upgrade, I’d go back to the 6 in a heartbeat.
Come on its simply a misdiagnosis, she’s clearly a bulimic with a short term memory issue…
1 cause is stress. Years back when I was not so well with stress this was a weekly thing. Its very unpleasant.
Ahh okay, makes sense
three exams next week… coincidence??? I think not
No. This BTW is where ancient Greek legends of nymphs come from (apparently). Sleep paralysed people would belive they were possessed
Normally, you shouldn’t fight it. Just relax and you’ll fall back to sleep.
If it keeps happening in succession despite this, you have to get up once you can move or it’ll just go on and on. Go do something non-mentally stimulating like watch TV until you’re really sleepy again.
Go tell your mom you experienced 鬼压*. See her reaction lol.
*“gui ya”: term for the Chinese belief that a ghost sits(“presses down”) on you, which is pretty much the same as described in Western mythology.
I am feeling you mate. I ride a motorcycle every day and constantly have avoid idiots doing anything other than driving. Phone, texting, reading a book, doing make up, smoking, eating dinner off a plate with a knife and fork, doing their nails, masturbating, eating cereal out of a bowl. Driving a car is probably the most dangerous thing most people do in their day and the lack of attention to actually controlling the vehicle is truly frightening.
I first got it in bootcamp probably due to stress. Then I got it later due to too much prolactin so it can be a hormonal problem too from what my endo told me. I also had Restless Leg Syndrome at the same time, which is also a symptom of hyperprolactinemia.
I also have a theory that it happens when the mind is extremely overstimulated prior to sleep so it keeps prematurely “waking up”. @anna_5588
I got it recently probably because I had to do too much complex work in front of the computer for too long like cleaning up some code or fine tuning draft video edits that my guys from overseas in different time zones sent me after working hours. I think it’s why I also keep getting lucid dreams.
I’m not easily “stressed” and my bloodwork came out normal.
I think also wrote about my mind probably reacting to intense exercises like squatting in a previous post. I normally work out at night.
It could be a combination of a lot of things.
It’s scary when you get it the first time, as I’m sure you know lol.
*For people who haven’t experienced it, here’s a tip if you ever do:
You need to relax and you’ll probably drift back to sleep. Do NOT panic. If you get anxious and fight it, you still won’t be able to move. Instead, you’ll start hearing and even seeing weird things or physically feel things like you’re being strangled since you’re still partially asleep and reality can blend with a dream state.
This is why people think there’s a supernatural element to this. Believe me, there isn’t. It’s a natural, biological thing since your body has to be paralysed when you’re sleeping or you’ll start sleep walking or acting out your dreams.
Simply put, this occurs when the mind “wakes up” before the body “realizes it” so you’re still paralysed.
Technically, she probably has. We all have periods of anorexia but some people need to deal with anorexia nervosa.
Technically correct, the best type of correct
yeah, it was VERY trippy coaching myself out of that
I figured, but I was so sleepy that I couldn’t keep myself awake
Same with me depending on the stage of sleep this happens. I can’t be bothered and just go along with it hoping it’ll eventually stop. It sometimes does. If I get it soon after I fall asleep, then I’ll get up.
I’ve had this on and off all my life since my military days for different reasons so I’m used to it. I’ve tried sleep medication, one of which was a low dose tricyclic antidepressant(mirtazapine) recently which also serves as a sleep aid off-label, but they all only provide relief while you’re on them IME.
Benzos WORSEN and prolong the problem once you come off IME. I won’t use them again. Mirtazapine is a viable temporary option for me and I’ll probably use it again if I really need it to sustain work productivity.
The only thing that really worked was when I got this due to the aforementioned hormone imbalance and was prescribed drugs to rectify it.
Maybe you should get another hormone check to rule out any underlying problems.
Clarification she is claiming that.
I just figured I’d look up a definition:
And realistically, it just doesn’t seem possible. Like, not even remotely.
It looks extraordinarily similar to what I’ve seen in other people at times, like my little fitness bunny ex-gf but really, she’s quite lacking in several criteria.
Witnessed a young lad donning a weight belt just for face-pulls this morning, at my local gym. Enjoyed a good internal chuckle at that…
Stop creeping on me.
Anorexia nervosa - summary:
Sufferers have “an unrealistic perception of body weight and an extremely strong fear of gaining weight or becoming fat.”
If she thinks she is fat - it’s not unrealistic. And is she has a strong fear of gaining weight she’s doing a great job of standing up to that fear.
I guess that makes it even worse since the idiots have a phone in their hand in stead of the stick
As a Brit (where 90%+ of cars are manual), I can confirm this doesn’t noticeably help.
Agreed, it just means they take their hand of the wheel to change gear, they dont take their hand off their phone
I got a lift off a friend of a friend to college once. He was on his phone half the time, speeding through the city, kept turning to me when he wanted to talk. Worst thing was the car’s suspension was dropped right down, he had to take speed bumps at and angle otherwise the car would scrape off the road.
I take the bus these days.
she’s quite lacking in several criteria.
Yep… she’s not fitting the medical guidelines from the way I understand it. If I had to guess she suffers from being a drama queen or attention whore. But that’s just me.
And is she has a strong fear of gaining weight she’s doing a great job of standing up to that fear.
Shes a hero… let’s be honest. She probably should be concerned because it will eventually come back around and bite her in the ass health wise.
