I feel like I am rolling the dice everytime I get in the car in Florida. Between senior citizens and mid-life crisis dudes driving sports cars they have no business in, it’s bad down here.
Besides being on the phone (oddly it’s middle aged women not teenagers mostly) the other thing nobody here can do is stay in there lane when there are two left turn lanes.
I’d like the idea of having to plug your phone in and it shutting your car down if you do anything besides make a call. Same with a breathalyzer to show you’re sober before it starts.
But yes, I’d love more stick shift options to actually engage people while they’re driving. I miss all of mine. People don’t seem to understand that they’re driving something capable of killing several people in an instant.
Right? I do feel like the pandemic has aided in the decline of driving abilities, because this wasn’t such an issue before.
Not a clinical psychologist, but I’m pretty sure “being underweight” is one of the primary diagnostic criteria
I’m still hoping I can get a 2020 Honda Civic Sedan in MT brand new
I’d imagine you could, Honda does a decent job of maintaining MT in their lines. I was really hoping Ford would offer a manual in the new Ranger, but nooooooope. At least with trucks it sorta makes sense to favor auto. Less wear on the drivetrain when hauling/towing a lot and, therefore, higher towing/hauling ratings.
You’re clearly just fat-phobic and don’t understand “her truth”… ![]()
Sadly, not really. They ditched most manuals in the 2021 civic. I think only the Type R has it. I hate hatchbacks. And I don’t like the Type R either. Looks like a punk teenaged racer wannabe.
The Toyota Tacoma still has a lot of MT options. Also, I thought MT makes more sense for trucks?
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. Not sure if correct, but the accord is usually inferior to the civic? Not sure
My dream car was really a Mazda 3 or 6 MT. Sadly, the last ones that had MT were 2017 or 2018 models. I really do love the deep shiny red of Mazda though. The bright reds in other cars look cheap
If you can snag it, I think they made a coupe version of the accord with a MT up until a few years ago.
The accord has the same 4 cylinder engine as the civic and the coupe version is only slightly heavier. I think the R type civic is more performance tuned, but one I guy I worked with while selling Hondas bought that coupe Accord and just had a better computer system put in. Check transmission ratios to, but I think power/torque was almost equal.
Do you have the mps versions of the mazda 3 and 6 where you live? A friend had the 6 mps, it’s a 4 wheel drive monster, that doesn’t look too boy racery.
Sadly, I don’t think that’s available in the US, at least not anymore
I believe a bmi of 18 or under is one of the prerequisite. Don’t quote me
It’s a thyroid issue …

I see it as no different than firing a weapon into a crowd. Yeah, you weren’t trying to kill anyone in particular, but you were definitely risking harm to everyone.
It’s one of the most evil things people can do, and they do it every day. The message is clear: “My personal entertainment is more valuable than your life”. That’s some Roman emperor sh*t right there.
Stuff like this is why I’m a misanthrope.
Dude, I’ve been hit on my bike by a woman who went straight through a stop sign and had me on her hood, narrating to her friend “OMG! I just hit a guy on his bike! I think he’s going to kill me!”.
People are fucking idiots about this, and I will literally fight anybody who disagrees, because they are really just defending their own shitty behavior when they do.
That’s a big red button with me.
THis is a big reason I do NOT want to drive
FTFY
Yeah, and the used market wouldn’t be so bleak for someone looking for a proper transmission. Right now the fleet has two 6 speed manuals in it’s ranks. I remember thinking having a 6 speed was a status thing (in HS they were mostly in sports cars). I guess I have arrived.
On a positive note… happy to see my youngest is seeing more art commission work from a game site he’s been dealing with.
As a Brit (where 90%+ of cars are manual), I can confirm this doesn’t noticeably help.
