Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

I confess I took the battery out of my only scale and threw it under my bed. If I somehow find the will to find something to fish it out I’ll just throw the scale away.

Feels good mane.

A lady walked up to me in the gym last night holding what looked like a plastic leg off a couch and a screw driver (no @ChongLordUno she didn’t stab me with it this is not Glasgow). She said that she was struggling to undo a screw and that I looked strong and could I help her. Puffed out my chest feeling pretty good and said sure, put the screw driver into a hole on the leg where the screw was and … damn I couldn’t undo it. Screw driver was just spinning. Now I feel weak and stupid ! I look at the screw driver and see the problem, it is too small for the screw. I show the lady the problem and explain that she need a slightly bigger screw driver. She thanks me for trying and tells me that not only do I look strong but I am smart too. Phew rescued that one and feel good again !!

Sounds more like London nowadays to be fair mate :joy:

Probably right, my cousin lives and works in Brixton (south London) and it does seem to be a little rough around the edges!!

Lol I actually asked the girl who works in the gym if she had any tools. We found a tool kit that had a screw driver but it was too big. Both ladies had a little giggle when I mentioned that the shaft was too big for the hole !

I dont know if a good job is in order at this point but thanks.

Basically the game plan is melting the butter for 18 weeks and reevaluate. The goal is being at what I consider a good training weight.

Sadly… I’ve never had that issue.:sob:

Scales are dumb. I think I’ve weighed myself a total of 9 times since moving to my new location in Jul of 2019. I used to do it twice a day: once first thing in the morning and once before bed.

I’ve had MUCH better results with the former vs the latter. Unless you’re competing in a weight class, f**k the scale.

  1. Not really a confession- more of an interesting observation:

I’m American, but at some point a couple years ago, I started using British spellings. Last week I was reading an article with US spellings and swear I saw “behaviour” instead of behavior and “colour” instead of color

  1. I confess I use my math course as an excuse for a lot of things. Don’t want to talk when family friends come over? Have to work on math. Too lazy to blog? Need to study for math/ do homework. Had a bad night of sleep? Thinking about how to solve math problem

I get on the scale like 10 times a day.

Lots of times I weigh in and out when I use the bathroom.

This one isn’t an excuse - it’s very real.

I often go to bed thinking about math problems, but they don’t really interrupt my sleep. It was the econ problem sets that literally gave me nightmares. The sucky part is that I basically spend the night subconciously doing econ (very vivid dreams too), then have 3 hrs of econ classes the next day

THere was two particular problem sets ( I think I’ve mentioned them before) where I spent 2 hours on it myself in the morning, went to econ class followed by behavioural econ class, followed by 1hr of working on it with my friend then another 2 hrs working on it with my homework group, then dreamt of it, only to repeat the process again

It’s got to be damn frustrating for guys running tons of gear and no one really notices it.

Confession:
Another day another “Body image is hurting people’s mental health” story in the press. And I want to know if there is a study into how much body positivity hurts peoples physical health.
How many people die early every year because they are “comfortable with their weight/body fat percentage”.
