Careful @theBeth, most here think that we live in the same area code…
Also. This is why I have a chance of a good rec letter
@Edgy most if us think there’s a lot more going on than simply living close
Confession - although I care about not being a totally fat slob, physique goals no longer motivate me like when I was a teenager or 20-something. Maybe it’s a lingering effect of a couple nearly life-ending injuries, but I value and enjoy training for some type of physical task or ability far more than appearance.
The kicker is losing fat would help my current goal of hiking some 14,000-foot-tall mountains (14ers) in Colorado this summer. The hiking goal fuels my training and, while typing this, I had a paradigm shift. If I see eating as part of my training instead of a physique-based effort, the perspective will give purpose to my dietary efforts, too.
Why is that a confession? There’s too much sound logic and healthy thinking to count ![]()

Good point. I’m virtually always logical and sound in my reasoning
The confession is I’m doing the physique challenge, and the challenge is to care about my physique! But I must care more than I believe, or I wouldn’t have disliked what I saw in my January pictures strongly enough to join the challenge.
Confession:
I looked back through my training log and it turns out I’m weaker now than in October. I currently struggle to dead lift 200kg twice, where as in October I dead lifted 190kg 6 times.
This is in part due to an injury over Christmas and I had to stop all dead lifting and heavy squats. And this was only the 3rd dead lift session since introducing them back in. And I know it will take some time before I get the movement practiced again. But still. It feels crap.
Don’t get confused, 200 is a bigger number than 190!
Yeah but 190 for 6 - and now 200 for 2. I’d have hoped for a few more. Even 3 I could live with. But dropping 4 reps for 10kg feels weak.
On the other hand - its an encouragement to train harder.
Or, conversely, look how much you kept!
I’ve been pleasantly surprised a couple of times after injury or layoff how much is retained on the deadlift in particular.
Upgrade to banana.
Bacon and banana is peak pizza. Caramelised onion chutney optional but recommended.
sacrilege.
I honestly had no idea there were so many pineapple-pizza-loving lunatics in this madhouse. Somebody do me a favor - if my cheat meal is ever a keto crust pineapple pizza, shoot me. Shoot me dead.
Mrs Balls chutney, mmm.
Man…what happened to flame free…
Is there any other kind? Anything else isn’t really chutney, just jam trying to be edgy.
At least the keto crust apparently resembled a real crust and wasn’t some crumbly cauliflower shit
Confession:
I’m away surprised by how much food I need to function. I’ve eaten as much food today (by 15:00) than 3 of my work colleges eat a day. And I’m stopping to cook a preworkout meal.
