The stuff I eat on a daily basis in the states isn’t all that odd- broiled fish, bread, various (mostly cruciferous) veggies, protein powder, canned fish, dairy products and eggs
It’s when I’m in China for break that I indulge in delicacies like softshelled turtle, abalone, sea cucumber and sometimes raw offal
I don’t discriminate. Taste is taste. ethics and repugnance is divorced from taste.
I also think shark fin, dog meat and foie gras are delicious. That doesn’t mean I don’t think they are unethical and don’t eat them (unless my dad’s French business partner sends us foie)
I’ve done slices on a griddle before and they are awesome. Takes on whole different dimensions of flavor when you toss in some garlic, onions, sriracha, etc.
I don’t know if I have ever had white pepper. I would estimate I use about 10X the normal amount of black pepper though. We have to buy the big container every other month it seems.
I estimate 90% of my pizza is pepperoni. It is just always good, and I save a few bucks over the specialty pizza which I usually like less than pepperoni. I will say there is a place in MN that does a phenomenal baked potato pizza. It has baked potato (obviously), bacon, cheddar, tomato, broccoli, and sour cream.
