With enoki mushrooms. That’s the only kind of mushroom I’ll ever touch. And it has to be in a hotpot.
EDIT:
Wait, no, I do like Burger King’s mushroom swiss burgers. I won’t touch any Chinese food with mushrooms. I HATE them.

TBH, I did develop mild tendonitis in my hip flexors that didn’t go away for 6 months. I think it was my own fault since I did power cleans from the floor throughout the program. Didn’t have blocks so the only other options were dropping the bar on my thighs, which I really don’t like, or making a lot of noise by dropping them on the thick metal bars of the power rack for 10 reps.
The irony is that it wouldn’t have happened if I had done Rippetoe’s version of power cleans lol.
I’m not at all shocked to discover Rippetoe has a method of training that is great at not working hard enough to have an impact on anything, haha.
I’m upset with myself that my timing for Deep Water is going to hit right around the hottest part of the year for us. I had the whole winter to have a freezing garage to train in and not die, but instead I’ll be doing 10x10 squats in a f**king oven.
It’s 30 degrees celsius in the evening over here… Stop whining!
Never! I’ll always beat myself up for being stupid, haha.
The humidity is what gets me here. All my bars have rusted.
Dude my mom makes some sort of fish fillet hot pot with that and some other shrooms and some tausi (douchi / fermented black beans) and damn it’s good
HK summer = 30-40C + 100% humidity
Yup. Been there for it. Singapore too. Few other spots.
So this hot pot thing is just like The Melting Pot.
I was today years old before I looked that up and realized this.
I’m going to have to do this with like salmon and portabellas. Maybe some chanterelle this summer.
Never heard of salmon hot pot, but sounds interesting!
I do goofy stuff with food that has nothing to do with its origin.
Like cabbage and egg tacos.
“Leftover stir fry” is a big thing for me when packing for work. Just take all the meat and veggies I have left in the fridge, throw it into the same class container and dump seasoning/sauce on it.
Yeah, my patent response to “What is that?” is “Energy. You must feed the machine!”.
I like to say “I’ve stopped naming the meals”. Same thing when people say “You’re eating ribs for breakfast?”
This is my 4th meal of the day: I’ve stopped giving them names.
So awesome
I confess I am in a bit of a quandary here.
I have a deadlift workout waiting for me when I get off shift.
I also have a grassfed ribeye waiting for me when I get off shift.
And I am torn.
Do I eat the ribeye before the workout so that I have the awesome ribeye based fuel for pulling a great deadlift workout?
Or do I SAVE the ribeye for AFTER the deadlift workout, to eat it in celebration of my victory, as steak and eggs is the breakfast of warriors?
I have 6 more hours to decide.
For sure after
Buy a second rib eye on the way home.
After!
