Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Reno is a funny little town.
It looks dirty and scuzzy when the sun is out, but at night it’s glitzy and glamorous.
Alcohol helps, of course

Hey @ChickenLittle , you should schedule a T Nation weekend at Reno. It would be fun.
Or, we should all plan on meeting up at the O in Vegas…

I sure as hell wish I could! It would be fun. Just not sure the state of Nevada would be ready for it if all us landed there at once…:rofl::rofl:

Good point.

Mine was, but she made me promise never to do the BTM diet again. I think the blown up bathrooms and rumbling morning farts traumatized her.

I confess that while on this diet, I have no carbs until Saturday, and after a big breakfast of oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon, all I want is a nap.
But, It’s a leg day, sooooo

Oatmeal, like warm turkey, causes drowsiness. Same with nutmeg. Since I learned that, oatmeal makes more sense to me as a dinner than a breakfast.

Confession - every time I deadlift, I crave a fast food double cheeseburger as my post workout meal. Not after squats. Not after push presses. Only after deadlifts. And it has to be a double cheeseburger with American cheese, not a beefy single patty with cheddar or any other, better cheese.

I’m sure it’s a craving by association. I used to be the late-night supervisor at a gym. After closing Thursday nights, my small crew (two guys) and I would go to a 24-hour Whataburger and eat double cheeseburgers at 3 a.m. The gym opened at 4:30 a.m., so we’d go back and put the protein to use by deadlifting and squatting. Six years later and I still crave deadlifts, double cheeseburgers, and the camaraderie that’s only possible from shared graveyard shift work and lifting.

@T3hPwnisher

I confess I’ve been thinking about running Deep Water again. The results weren’t bad the last time but it took a lot more eating too. Tried to start a couple of times, in fact. I already have it memorized anyway. But every time I tell myself, “Ok I’m starting it today.” before heading out for the gym, this happens in my mind:

I shudder to think what B dub’s consider’s a ‘white truffle’, haha.

Oh, that’s just wrong.

It could just be my lack of skill, but I have yet to successfully combine spicy/hot with mushroom of any kind.

Hotpot? @dt79 @whang

Spicy marinaded wood ear is also delicious as an appetizer

And here I was complaining about truffle oil as a condiment :joy::joy: I guess it just takes a bit of perspective

Hmmm… I’ll have to take your word for it.

I did like them in a tangy/savory soup though.

Blanche the wood ear

use 2vineger: 1sugar: 1salt + a teaspoon or 2 of chili oil

mix together → enjoy!

I’m gonna have to wait a while for the wood ears to come out. Never really got into them except to give them to the family that had the restaurant my sister used to work at.

Then they made the soup.

I bought a DB Method off marketplace and use it every leg workout.
