Jesus, some dude rolled in the gym built like a bulldog and he just benched 585 smoother than Iāve ever seen anyone bench 405. Heās about to go for 600.

Unfortunately he kind of misgrooved the descent, got stuck at about 2/3 of the way up and after a 3 second grind the bar started to go back down and the spotter helped him rack it. He tried once more which was surprising but it wasnāt even close. Still, that 585 was butter and the 600 could have gone if not for the wonky angle at the bottom.

Honestly- I stop what Iām doing and watch. I think people perform well when they know people are āmirin. If someoneās not in the zone Iāll go give them a fist bump afterwards too. Iām pretty open about giving props, I just never give advice. I think Iāve done it one time because the kid looked super scared and like he wanted help but was afraid to ask.
