Iām sure Thorās wife can sympathize with you.
In all seriousness, watch a couple videos or just try it out for yourself. I like my belt pretty tight during squats, and during deadlifts I leave it loose enough to fit a few fingers in (ba-dum tchh) so when I breathe in and brace itās like a barrier for me to push against, and then when I bend down with that full breath everything gets crazy tight. But again, to each his own.
As for the bite, itās not so bad your first time - itās the few times when your first bruises are still fresh. But thatās like working out - the first workout isnāt bad, but going back to the gym with DOMS sucks. If youāve gone back for leg day after breaking your leg DOMS cherry, you can do this.

Yeah, really excited to get back to the gym. Iāll try it out with a couple of dumbbell squats and see how it feels. Deadlifts will definitely be interesting too
