Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Flame free and slightly off topic
Set up a new 10 gal aquarium for my girls. Let it filter a couple days and bought 4 danios to start. Get them in the tank, go run errands. Two hours later I come back to 1 floating fish, 2 stuck dead behind the filter inlet and one missing (I am assuming obliterated by the filter inlet impeller) :man_facepalming:

Guess I will try again on Tuesday when the local pet store opens. Turned the filter to its lowest settings now.

On topic:
I have been loving Meadows’ YouTube channel this weekend. Maybe more than I should.

In your defense some of the fish at the pet aren’t as fresh as they seem. Was it a glass aquarium or plastic? We bought my son a plastic one for Christmas a couple of years ago and it has killed every fish we put in it! It was sad. Bought new gravel, fliter pads, water, additives, the only common denominator was the aquarium itself. We chunked that sucker!

It’s plastic. I really think the filter was just set to high. The Danios we got were at most an inch long.
Have to make sure I watch the new ones for awhile after getting them.
The tank is one of those starter kits (Topfin 10 gal) so I would hope the filter is appropriate out of the box.

Sometimes, due to temperature or predation, fish will jump out of the tank and flip off behind a piece of furniture or some other unexpected place.

Kind of doubt that one. Lid covers it pretty tight.
For reference

My girls are 2 and 4 and the tank reflects it well I think

A little bit ago, @wanna_be posted about measuring his arms. That made me measure mine and now I am doing an extra arm day…

I’ll let everyone decide for themselves if he is doing good or evil here…

Just feels good to have some brothers in arm shame.

On the subject of arm day, I confess I’ve been throwing in a set of curls in here or there as junk volume

Confession 2: I’ve been using ā€œit’s winter breakā€ as an excuse to spend most of the day watching netflix and drawing

  • corollary: I’ve used the fact that I’m watching documentaries to justify watching

They’re not junk volume if you do them with the same conviction you would with any other movement.

14.25ā€ crew checking in :sob: lost about an inch on the arms after my cut last year lol.

ā€œJunk volumeā€ is the newest lifting boogieman out there. Do you think Arnold worried about junk volume doing 3 hour sessions at Gold’s?

Arnold was also taking everything he did seriously with ā€œvisualization techniquesā€ and stuff. In his book Total Recall, contrary to the popular narrative that Arnold did ā€œOlympic Liftingā€ before doing bodybuilding, what he claims is actually the opposite. He was initially training with bodybuilders and got big and strong enough to take part in a weightlifting contest despite not knowing proper technique on a whim and won.

There was such a rich history of this approach back when the press was still part of the olympic lifts. Removing it was an awful mistake.

There’s a reason I specifically confessed to using them as junk volume :joy::joy::sweat_smile:

Exact same here…but do you have the obnoxiously thick (thicc?) torso to accentuate the lack of arm size? My ass has its own gravitational pull but my arms are just kinda hanging there.

You guys are still ahead of the majority of Men’s Health magazine cover ā€œmodelsā€, so you got that going for you.

What’s the story behind it? Is it to remind you, or to remind others in your life?
You can tell us, we’re all friends here, right?

Dunno. Pretty inaccurate. A good ā€œFrozenā€ themed aquarium should have a shipwreck with Elsa and Anna’s dead parents.

True, I only have a 45 inch chest, so you guys probably look a lot more unbalanced than me lol. I still have it pretty bad though

Hahahaha

So do I, but the issue comes from being thin front-to-back and wide. Hips and shoulders are similar width :man_shrugging:
