Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

I realized this after I saw his post. I feel bad knowing there are legit issues outside of his control, but I also feel bad because regardless of ones mental capacity, dudes still a human and I was low key baiting/messing with him. Probably should work on that on here and in the real world.

It’s fine dudes. I don’t think anyone could tell. Like I said earlier, the functional ones are pretty normal. The average person won’t be able to tell the difference easily.

I said I felt guilty earlier only because I remembered him mentioning his illness from a couple of months back, but only after I had made a couple of sarcastic posts. And I only remembered it because I have a schizo relative. I don’t think anyone else could possibly have recalled it even if they had read his old post.

But messing with a real troll is cool in my book. I wouldn’t feel guilty about that.

Oh great. I’m on vacation till the end of the year. But I made the mistake of checking my email.

A previous client liked some simple tech stuff I recently did for them that I mostly outsourced so much they’ve requested I do another more complex one early next year. Just sent me an email with a detailed excel sheet of their requirements and I don’t even understand 70% of the fucking words in it. It’s like some fucking sci-fi shit.

I just forwarded it to my other guys and told them to handle it and even they don’t understand half of what the fuck’s in it.

Never check your business email on vacation.

It’s for next year so there’s ample time to prepare and I don’t want to lose this client lol. But it means now I have to connect the outsourced guys I was previously managing with my own guys and may even have to get further get referrals to even more advanced guys from them. Which means actually doing work. FUCK.

P.S, this client has some sort of thing in her email that alerts her when the email’s been opened or something so there was no escape lol.

I confess that every time I think about giving Elitefts my business again, I see stuff like this

Schrƶdinger’s bands.

The guy I blocked was specifically to avoid going after him. I decided he (I think he, maybe a she or a circle, who knows?) makes me too aggressive and I decided to avoid the trigger and play nice.

We talked about me getting a Prowler a while back. Maybe in April or so? I shopped around, considered making my own, etc. Eventually decided to go with Elitefts, even though I was warned about them (probably by you), just because I thought hey, it’s one item, and probably decent quality, right?

Well, I bought it, and a few days later saw that it was sold out, like everything else. Score! They said it’d ship in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks, I called them to inquire. It would be just a couple more weeks, COVID was slowing things down. Annoying, but understandable.

Now it’s May, I repeatedly keep calling every few weeks and they say it’s about to. Finally in late July I call, pretty fed up, and the customer service lady (it was the exact same woman I spoke to every time, they must only have one customer service employee) said ā€œUm, that order was canceled in April. I don’t know you spoke to but they must’ve just not looked that closely at it and gotten confused.ā€

I didn’t yell or lose my temper, not really my style, but I was angry, haha. You! You didn’t look closely enough at it! We’ve spoken every few weeks for months now and you kept telling me it’d be here any day.

Rant over.

Man, that sucks, but not at all unexpected. Dave is a great dude, but his company has become a joke.

This is why they sold out equipment to Rogue, if I’m not mistaken.

That sucks!
my brother ordered a pair of dumbbells from Amazon about a month ago and they never arrived.
We called customer service, they looked into the order, and found that the seller was a scam. No indication from the reviews!

I’m seriously worried about whether I’ll be able to get a barbell and plates, even if/when my parents agree

Get a yard waste-size trash bag, some duct tape, some water, and a t-shirt.

Fill the bag with as much water as you want (you can probably get a weight up to at least 100lbs, squeeze out the remaining air, tape up the top of the bag so it’s a fairly spill-proof blob, tape the bottom of the t shirt up, squeeze the bag through the neck hold into the new t-shirt ā€œsack,ā€ and use the arm holes as handles.

You can curl it, put it on your back for pushups, hold it across your back for squats and lunges, etc. If you have no intent of using it twice or have nowhere to store it, all you gotta do is pour some water out and throw away a plastic bag.

I’ve worked in the supply side for a few different industries and no matter how you slice it, that is just shit customer service/communication.

Well this is disappointing. I thought Dave Tate always took pride in his company’s customer service

Eh, I can’t speak to how Mr. Tate feels about that stuff.

But I have had to deal with customers when discontinuing product lines and products requiring long lead times. An honest email and/or follow up call goes a long way in controlling expectations.
