Agreed. All my plates and bars are Wright brand. Before the new owner took over they used to sell a absolute TON of used equipment, most of my machines came used from them too. Can’t believe they quit
I just looked at their site, a lot of the bars and plates are sold out again ![]()

It seems that both of their bearing bars are still in stock.
Follow them on Facebook, they post a lot of stuff about to hit the shelves
Yeah, I just hope the discount lasts for a while. Even if my parents agree to the idea of getting me a barbell, 325 probably isn’t going to happen
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that price is not the only reason why your parents are not keen on you acquiring more exercise equipment.
The speed at which equipment is selling out is mad.
In the UK general metal fabrication factories are churning out plates at £2/kg.
Use a scaffold tube as an axle and you’re golden.
I confess I did an arm workout last week AFTER my upper workout in the morning. I waited a week to put the 2nd workout in my log to hide my shame.
I’m not training legs and doing doubles on upper body. I’m a bro and I’m ashamed it feels so good.
Pretty much the same boat here
I am disgusted and happy with myself all at the same time
Training legs just makes your pants not fit anymore. I have started training legs again and now my pants wear like skinny jeans through the thigh.
I could buy pleated dress pants but those just make my ass look fatter than it already is.
I confess the new forum is like a foreign language to me.
Mod Disclaimer: this is not anything to do with Dr Darden, only the creatures that inhabit his sub.
Notable mentions include a guy who gained 11 pounds of muscle in 28 days, a guy who claims if you aren’t adding weight EVERY SINGLE WORKOUT then you are regressing, and a bunch of terms I’ve never heard before.
On a side note, I did a 30-10-30 (30 second negative, 10 controlled but quick reps, 30 second negative) with leg extensions the other day, and it was brutal and accompanied by a crazy quad pump, so a thumbs up for that technique as a finisher.
I was surprised to find so many members I have never come across before. I thought I was reading 10+ year old threads, but nope, they were new.
The new thread by planet health has me so confused. Idk if he’s making a joke or it’s real or what
That’s real, but I have also just now seen something about someone having schizophrenia and it might have been in reference to him so I’m gonna back off of saying anything else until I know whether or not that’s the case.
There is a perfectly sane man claiming to have gained a dozen pounds of muscle in a month, though. Like, imagine the 3 lb packages of beef most of us buy, that are usually 80% lean, so imagine it’s 100% lean and there are 4 of those packages and you get to distribute that around your body as pure lean muscle in 28 days.
Breh.
When you break it down like that, damn haha.
Uhmmm… if I ever have to make lifting that complicated I am out. Just no. I can’t even.
I think what’s wild to me is that claims like that are a direct insult to prominent strength coaches like, say, Jim Wendler. Much more so than “Jim doesn’t know shit”.
If you can gain 11 pounds of muscle in 28 days, and if you are regressing if you don’t add weight every single session, then according to those principles, Jim is a fraud holding us back.
But what if he’s not talking about strength coaches, you say? What if he’s talking about bodybuilding?
Equally as applicable. There isn’t a BBing coach worth a shit anywhere that will tell you you have to advance in weight every session, and any BBing coach presented with a client that needs to gain 11 lbs of pure muscle in the next month who tells that client that they’ll be OK is a fraud.
Maybe it seems harmless and comical to a lot of people, but to me it seems like a direct assault on everything we know to be true about muscle gain.
I just gave that thread a skim (some real essays in there) so I know what I’m talking about. Honestly, all I could think of while I was in there was “where the F is Joel Seedman when you need him”?
Comical for sure, but I also see what you’re saying.
Nope. How’s your one-arm pullup training going btw? Making progress?
